More About Birds
You guys might have heard this on your local news already, but we had a bird-related accident on one of our metro freeways in Portland today. Some moron couldn't manage to avoid hitting this very large bald eagle that had landed on the road to feed on carrion.
I mean really? The driver couldn't miss it? In broad daylight? The traffic couldn't have been that heavy at 12:30pm, and the weather was bright and clear. Makes me wonder if the driver hit it on purpose. Probably not. But this really bothers me. Poor bird.

Look how big he is, you guys. I mean, that margin is large enough for a car to pull over out of traffic, and the eagle's wingspan fills it.

He's so gorgeous. Initial reports are that he has a broken leg and spine damage. The local news report I heard had a vet saying, "He has no use of his legs." What a shame if he has to be euthanized.
If that's as depressing to you as it was to me, maybe this will help. I wish I had this goat kid's energy and spirit. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't knock my friends over, though. o__O
