It was the first rain of the year. You could hear the pitter-patter of the rain as it descended down from the heaven, refreshing the whole city. Children laughed and danced with utter glee as the drops of rains washed away the scorching heat of the sun and petrichor emanated from the earth.
As the children danced, and the adults thanked God for ending the drought; there stood a girl. Clad in shades of blue, she stood staring out at the view in front of her. Her heart longed to go join the people in celebrating the weather, to sing, and to dance.
“Come,” a hand reached out to her, “let’s go out and rejoice the coming of monsoon.”
Hesitation was clear on her face, as she said “It’s okay, I will just watch from here.”
Smiling up at her, he said to her. “Jalaluddin Rumi once said: Stop acting so small, you are the universe in ecstatic motion.” Grabbing her hand he pulled her out of the small shelter she had built for herself. “Live your life to the fullest, you have the entire world residing in you. Let go of your inhibitions.”
