The "Canvas of Inclusion" initiative brought together more than 2,000 participants to create beautiful murals that now serve as enduring tributes to the power of inclusive education. Through the creative vision of renowned muralist Kyle Holbrook and the coordination of OUSD's Disability Access Coordinator Aruna Subramanian, three schools now feature spectacular pieces of art that speak to the heart of educational equity...Montera is lucky to be one of them!

As we head into the winter holiday break, I invite us all to slow down, recharge, and embrace the peace this season can bring. I know this isn’t an easy time for our district as we continue to make difficult decisions about our budget, and many of us are still processing recent tragedy in our city.

Montera Middle School offers a strong academic foundation, creative learning, and a school culture built on care and inclusion. We focus on reading, writing, science, and social-emotional development. Our staff works closely with families to help each student feel seen, valued, and prepared for the next step. As part of OUSD, we guide students toward success with confidence and connection.
