CHARACTERName: Nick Username: gotshithappens Fandom: The Forsaken ( 2001 ) HISTORYAs History and legend go, the First Crusade was a bloodbath. During the war, the only survivors were nine French Knights. Before them appeared Abaddon, the Angel of the Bottomless Abyss. The story goes that eight of these French Knights made a pack with the demon Abaddon for eternal life. To seal the deal, they made the ninth of the Knights the sacrifice to Abbadon, killing him by drinking his blood. However, when the sun came up, they were so ashamed of what they had done they could not stand the sight of each other. So instead they hid away in caves until nightfall and then went in separate ways, spread out all across the world. Forever cursed with the desire for human blood, never again able to walk in the light of day. They became known as the Forsaken.
What does this have to do anything to do with Nick, who was living the rock 'n roll life during the year 2001? Well, about a little over a year ago, Nick was bitten by some "crazy chick" in a party. That one girl? The source of all of his problems. The two following days, he was sick as a dog and really thought he was going to die - so much, he dragged himself to the hospital. Lucky for him, one of the interns had been bitten and he knew what he was dealing with, so he gave him the cocktail of drugs that had been discovered in the late eighties (during the drug trials for AIDS) by a doctor that had also been bitten. It only slows the virus, as he was told, since the only cure for the infection is to track down the original Forsaken and kill him. Ever since, Nick has pursued the career, if you could call it that, of a vampire hunter, trying to trace down the source of his infection.
Which brings him to Sean, a simple guy driving through the Arizona desert to get to Florida to get to his sister's wedding. Unfortunately for Sean, he was driving and Nick needed a ride so when the opportunity presented itself, Nick grabbed Sean's wallet and conned him by telling him he would pay for gas if he would give him a ride. PERSONALITY❝ We are fucked. Take a look at the world we inherited. We're a bunch of fast-food munching MTV freaks humping the great Amercian Dream. The generation before us sold their innocence for 200 digitally enhanced satellite stations, and it's been downhill ever since. They had Mickey Mouse, Easy Rider and The Beatles. We got South Park, The Blair Bitch and Ricky Martin. They had "Be here now!". We got "Shit Happens!". If that doesn't put thinks in perspective, I dunno what does. I mean, we're just Microsoft Neanderthals addicted to surfing Netland, still shitting in our nests. And every time i think about giving a rat's ass, I picture Monica making millions from sucking Bill's little red rooster. Just rockets me right back into reality.❞-- Nick ➡ Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. CHARACTER INFORMATIONName: Raicho Livejournal Username: matriotism Fandom: Original ( Monsters! ) Image: http://i.imgur.com/J7zK8.gif Reserve: Here.
Age ||| Appearance: Chronologically she has existed for five years, but because she is a monster the human rules of aging and maturity don't apply. They don't have maturity in the human sense - they exist and from the moment of their existence they are a fully developed being, quite apart from the human concept of "growing into adulthood" given as monsters don't go through puberty nor any aging process. They are born ready to kill, eat, and terrorize. In terms of how aging would effect physical appearance, monsters simply claim any human body they want, and thus have any physical appearance they want. While she has existed for five years, shedefinitely isn't five by human standards. ||| In a way, Raicho has three appearances, but you can really only see two. The first and her "original" appearance, given how she is female, is the body of a young woman, about twenty years old, with long blonde hair and blue eyes. She looks absolutely adorable and even harmless, and that's exactly why Raicho picked this skin: to deceive. As for the male body - which she changes by regurgitating the skin around herself - he looks slightly younger, taller, with strong features. Hair brown and short, rather messy, and big brown puppy eyes. They are both very attractive bodies, deliberately so (she is quite vain). Both appearances receive slight changes when she feeds, eyes turning completely black and skin stretching, jaw unhinging so that she can devour a person. The "third" appearance is her monster appearance, which is a shapeless black goo. ( PB: Sara Ziff & Francisco Lachowski )
Sexual Preferences/Orientation: Monster views on sex are not bond by human morality - monogamy, consent, and all those concepts are something they simply don't care to understand. There are differences between male and female monsters: male monsters dislike leaving offspring, but can't seem to make an effort to avoid them beyond killing (and eating) their sexual partners. Female monsters are typically sterile, and Raicho is too (her mother is one of those rare exceptions). She has absolutely no romantic interess in anyone although she does fancy some people over others (usually, that means she doesn't eat them or maim them to death). As for the sex itself, given her ability to shift bodies, she enjoys both male and female anatomy with no big preference. It depends on her mood really, although she has gathered that it's easier to convey to human's sexual preference, be it man or woman she is dealing with. Raicho herself doesn't have a preference when it comes to her partners. Aesthetics are, however, critical: she likes the pretty ones. Of course this is highly ambiguous because what she finds pretty may not be what someone else deems it so. Another big thing for her is mothers, she adores them, but she doesn't indulge sexually with them, although she does like to touch.
She's rough and likes to have it her way, so violence will always find its way into it if she takes the time to indulge herself. Over the years, she has figured she is also a bit of a voyeur.
Reason for playing: When it first began, Monsters! was just a small time original story created by a fellow player and I, however, it has since grown into this massive, super entertaining project and there at least five other players involved now. In a way, you could call it an "interactive story" and all of the characters have their own important part to play. Raicho in particular is a challenging character because of how to approach on the concept of a "baby monster" (although, as said, it's more of an affectionate term, since monsters don't really have any maturing phase). Letting her grow outside of her world is a great writing challenge; obviously I would be more comfortable playing her in a musebox, but pushing outside of the comfort zone is something I enjoy since it helps me put obstacles in the way my originals are "supposed" to grow, thus understanding them better.
As for the choice of Bete Noire, not only does it seem to be the perfect game to throw in an ugly heart such as Raicho, but it aslo challenges me as a writer and roleplayer to play around with the twisted side of the monster. I love writing villains and I think all games should have at least that blatant bad guy and I would love to try to make Raicho fill that nasty role. PERSONALITY
➡ To begin to understand monsters, first one must realize that human ideals are something they don't care. They understand them but just like you understand why someone doesn't like chocolate, you don't necessarily agree with them. Like any other monster, Raicho does not see anything wrong with eating humans and doesn't care at all about human feelings regarding the monsters natural habit of eating humans. The conception of "good" and "evil" is something she understands but does not agree. She has never had the need to change who she is because of some silly ideals. If anything, the ideal she follows is that of her mother. For Raicho, her mother is someone that should be heard and respected and she obeys her without even blinking. First and foremost come her mother and right next to her, comes herself. As her contact with other monsters has been next to none, she isn't quite like every other monster out there and because Mother Monster was gone by the time Kulshedra gave birth to Raicho, she does not have that loyal attachment to her - instead, all of her devotion, all of her allegiance is towards her own mother, not Calathea. It doesn't help that Kulshedra has kept Raicho in a bubble, keeping her a secret from all monsters - this because it is rare for female monsters to give birth and letting out a secret such as Raicho's birth out there could endanger her.
Because she is so attached to her mother, Raicho has the habit of policing mother's parenting skills. Finding out someone is a mother intrigues her and she will try to discover if said person is a good mother or not - and if not, you can bet your life that Raicho will do something about it. Of course doing something about it usually involves a lot of violence and not necessarily the best way to try and convince someone they should take better care of their children. Raicho herself is not interested in children. They are kind of boring toys, but she does think it's funny how small and fragile they are. In a way, she's attracted to motherly people but she isn't easily persuaded. Just because she may act like a curious animal, it does not mean she isn't an intelligent being. In fact, she is far more clever than people give her credit for, but she is a bit gullible in the way that there are still things she doesn't quite understand or grasp - like subtlety. Asking Raicho to be discreet or subtle about something is like expecting an elefant to not to stampede when a shot is fired. She's a brute, to put simply, and she has no regards for other people's private space or understand the concept of "leave me alone". She may even enjoy when someone is getting annoyed by her. She can ve very persistent in her nagging and doesn't really care if she's pissing someone off - to tell the truth, sometimes she really does like to push all the buttons a person has to see how far they are willing to stand her.
With the ability to take over two bodies at the same time, Raicho has learned early on to appreciate the human form. She likes how different it is, how some are curvy and others are lanky, how there are short humans and very tall ones, how some have long blonde hair and some have short hair. She is extremely vain and only likes pretty people - however, what is pretty to Raicho certainly isn't influenced by the social media as she pays no attention to such things. Liking men and women just about the same, she does prefer the young adults to the much older folk, which isn't to say that sometimes she doesn't like to touch the greying hairs of a mature human. She is so vain that she refuses to eat anyone she thinks ugly.
As you may have gathered, Raicho is a very physical person. Invading people's private space, touching without asking, all of that makes her a very touchy-feely person and she doesn't like to hear a no for an answer. Most of the time, however, she doesn't use force unlike most of her fellow monsters. She has learned by observing how a pretty face can use its beauty to charm someone and she takes full advantage of that without a lick of shame. Because she doesn't have any human concept of morality, she doesn't think anything she does is wrong and, in a way, for her it really isn't. For example, while she doesn't go out of her way to be rude, while she has no interest in being offensive, she can sometimes end up being very off-putting with remarks she makes without realizing what she's doing. On the other hand, this makes her a completely honest person. It's not that she doesn't lie or doesn't know how to, but unless it's to protect her mother or to get something she wants, she prefers to tell the truth - probably because her mother doesn't like it when she lies to her.
Generally speaking, Raicho is a very inquisitive creature. She's curious and isn't afraid to ask or look dumb if she asks something really obvious (like "Why is the water blue?" or "Why do birds fly?"). She likes to learn things, likes to know. Once more, this is her mother's influence working for she has always heard that knowledge is power so she believes that if she knows many things (even if it's useless information) she will get power and hopefully give it to her mother. It's not that she is extremely ambitious; for her power (whatever that is, she's not sure if she grasps the concept) has no use, but if her mother wants it, she doesn't see why not. She's more than happy if she has to get her hands dirty (and she will even if she doesn't necessarily have to). She likes to investigate for her own, likes to discover for herself. She's not one of those "easy way" kind of creatures. If she has to swim through mud to find out something, she most likely will. Enthusiastically too, because Raicho is like a ball of energy. In fact, she is so energetic about things that she can be exhausting.
All things considered, Raicho is not the worst monster you could encounter, but that doesn't make her the best either. While she finds humans intriguing, she doesn't think that they are that important and are easily replaceable; however, there are a few that she likes to take as pets (never friends, you need mutual respect to have friends and she can't manage to respect a human) and doesn't plan on hurting them. Or, well, what she thinks it's hurting them because a violent creature like Raicho will always inevitably hurt someone like a tiger playing with its trainer. A playful paw it's still a huge freaking paw with claws. And just loke a wild animal, she isn't exactly predictable. While she may be in a good mood, she might very well be hungry in the next and like a petulant child, she will want to have her meal and if it's someone she knows she doesn't care. She does what it takes to survive because that has always been part of her upbringing. So if she bares her teeth at you, you can bet she is being neither playful nor friendly.
ABILITIESMonsters have no original shape; their physical form is that of whatever human's skin they are wearing. Generally, once a skin is worn, it cannot be re-worn as its inside have been eaten by the monster and only the skin remains, but Raicho has the unique ability of being able to hold two skins (holding one inside her and changing when she wants to). When a monster occupies a human, it clones the organs with fake ones made out of some sort of thick black slime, that only really serve to pass by as humans. When a monster changes skin, the old one vomits out the monster in a gruesome spectacle as it lets out from the mouth all the fake organs and ends up like an inside-out body that rots fast. By default, all monsters are fast, strong, and can heal the skin they wear quickly, though it depends on the size of the wound or for how long it has been worn - the younger ones have to change skin more often as the fake organs deteriorate faster while the more ancient can keep a body for years. They have a very acute sense of smell and can distinguish species with a simple whiff. Monster powers can vary according to each individual. Raicho's is not just wearing the two skins but also making terrible noises. These noises inflict fear upon any being (aside from those immune to fear). Aside from having the potential to be emotionally crippling, they can also have physical side effects. Specifically, the noises can make the victim's ears and nose bleed as they induce an escalating pressure that most bodies aren't designed to tolerate. The vibrations of the noise can be manipulated so that she can shatter anything she wants to - in fact, she can affect only one object, should she choose. (Usually this means making a specific individual implode.) Weaknesses and limitations do exist. Monsters cannot eat sulfur slaves nor devils, as their flesh "exorcizes" the monster out of the human body. (However, the older the monster, the more powerful they become. A more ancient one may be able to take sizeable bites.) There are only two ways of killing a monster. The first is trapping the monster inside the skin it wears and destroying it - you must "burn" the monster within the body (devils do it by shoving their thumbs in their eyes and then burning them closed so that they can't escape) and then rip apart the flesh. The other is by eating the monster. WORLD INFORMATIONIn the quiet of the night, the sky tore open one day and from the holes in the skies, monsters began to descend from above upon Earth. Hungry creatures they were, feeding upon humans, devouring their flesh, their souls. At first, people did not understand what was going. Was it God's final wrath? Were it beings from another planet? But then they realized that the monsters under their beds, the monsters in the closet, in the basement, under the stairs, in the dark, the creatures children so wisely told adults about, were very real. Nobody listened to the children before. Leave the lights on, they would say, or the boogieman will catch you. Nobody believed until they were eaten and then, it was too late. People were afraid of sitting in the dark in front of a computer, they were afraid to hear a sound because if they looked over their shoulders, a drool driping monster could be waiting there. People were afraid of closing their eyes while they took a shower because they could be there when they opened them, behind the shower curtain.
As real as the belief of people, some would say the only way to defeat them was to stop believing in them - but how can you do so, when that you are afraid of is so very real?
So the only possibility was war and so soldier marched against something nobody quite understood how to get rid of. Then civilians picked up their rifles and their lanterns and their courage, their baseball bats and their crowbars and marched as well, hoping that maybe, just maybe, monsters could be defeated by union.
But that was an utopic thought; monsters were quite happy to see so many people together, so much flesh, so much blood. So many skins to enjoy, to mutilate, to devour.
The Devil in its sulfur throne rejoiced.
As Earth slowly turned into wasteland, humans began to lose hope. Governments destroyed, countries nothing more than empty landscapes. The despair filled the hearts of humans as monsters continued to be vomited upon Earth.
Years later, one very silly man decided to turn to the Devil and begged it to give him the strength to fight against monsters. The Devil said yes, of course. It would give the man the power necessary to defeat the monsters that wore the skins of humans. But in exchange, his soul would be Hell's forever, condemned to be a slave of the sulfer for eternity. Soon, those that were foolish enough, that had no hope left, began to make the Contract with the Devil in exchange for their souls. No turning back from that horrible faith, but the power granted upon them, the power to protect their families, their loved ones, was sometimes too much of a temptation to turn away from.
As monster began to die, big momma Calathea from above, the Mother Monster that had vomited her children upon Earth, began to get fed up with the Devil's antics. She did not like what she saw and her wrath took the lives of the sulfur slaves, making sure their souls would not reach the Sulfur King. She bore sons strong enough to take down entire countries and her daughters grew barren so that no hybrid would come from their womb. Those that escaped her anger kept their mouth tightly shut so that they would live.
The Devil did not enjoy Calathea's actions and as if to punish her from depriving Hell from the souls that rightfully belonged to it, he sent his own children, anger exploding into venomous bees, spitting acid and bile from its mouth. The monsters grew more powerful each passing day and began to see Earth as a comfortable ground for them, terrorizing humans, killing sulfur slaves, hating the Devil's children.
The children from human and monsters, those that escaped Calathea's killing spree, began to align to either monsters or humans, though most kept in neutral ground so that they would not get involved in the war. Humans continued to war against monsters and devils and sulfur slaves began to build cities to be guarded by them, keeping human life inside safely away from monsters.
Some humans were not happy with the arragements. Revolution began as a hush-hush, but the word spread throughout the world. Rebellion formed underground, exclusive to humans as any other could be a threat to their secrecy - sulfur slaves to the Devil and hybrids to the Mother Monster - albeit some branches would ally themselves with hybrids. But with the revolution came more difficulties and humans began to turn to faith and the prophet, Sebastien, speaking through charades that fed the hope of those that needed, told a story of humans conquering the Earth back - or so the true believers say.
Six years after Mother Monster descended upon Earth, she and the Devil disappeared. A well kept secret, however; neither humans nor hybrids nor sulfur slaves know. The Devil's children know of the Sulfur King and the monsters of Calathea. They don't know why or how, where did they go, if they will ever come back, but it's a information they do not disclose.
And during that time, the true prophet, a simple man from Canada, came out of his hideout to see just what is going on... ➡ we stopped searching for the monsters under our beds when we realized they were inside us ➡ those are monsters: cast ➡ and six years later, the skies turned red ➡ the encyclopedia HISTORYThe holes in the skies from where the monsters come from have been there for a very long time. They all come from above, from Mother Monster's, and that's where Raicho's story differs from her kin.
Female monsters are a rare thing. You will find a lot of male monsters (even if some prefer the female body, the monster itself is male). The little female monsters you find are either very rare or very dead, and even if they are alive, they are infertile. Perhaps a mesaure to make sure Mother Monster continues to be the only Mother Monster there is. Kulshedra, many thought, was like any other female monster: barren and hungry for power (and violence and blood). It would all change when an old "friend", Fenrad, came back from the dead. Or, more like, finally conquered over the human that had trapped him inside his own body - the same human whose daughter Sasha had been abducted by Kulshedra when the two monsters one day invaded his house. With the taste for revenge fermenting in his bile, Fenrad cornered Kulshedra when she least expected.
Five months later (monsters don't really have a fixed gestation period), Raicho was born.
As one can imagine, Kulshedra was enraged with the fact that she bore a monster and stay hidden, even going as far as getting a new body. However, she took good care of the monster she birthed. Raicho's first meal was enough to strengthen her to find her first body. She was ultimately attracted to the young and the pretty and the woman whose skin she took (and still wears) is proof of that. Satisfied with the skin, Raicho kept strolling around the world, following her mother everywhere she went, even if she strayed away sometimes when curiosity took the best of her. It was like this that she discovered Adam. Scrawny kid hiding away in a dark alley, she liked him so much she decided to keep him as a pet (as sometimes monsters do with humans). Kulshedra wasn't fond of the idea, but allowed it nevertheless. While she lets Adam walk around freely, she keeps him too terrified to leave. She has his scent, after all, so if he was to run, she would find him.
Two years after travelling with Kulshedra, Raicho stumbled upon a young man whose skin she was quite attracted to. She thought about keeping another pet - she could do so, it wasn't that much hard work - but she figured Adam would probably be jealous so she decided to take a break from wearing her blonde skin to instead trade for the boy's one. However, she was surprised to find out she could store an old skin within her as she wore another one, having only to vomit in a gruesome scene when she needed to change. As she informed Kulshedra of such ability, her mother seemed bewildered and then, proud - only it wasn't really pride and more of a cunning plan forming in her head, but Raicho cannot bring herself to ever think badly of mommy dearest. But while Kulshedra kept hiding away from the world, making sure their existence was kept under the radar (never explaining to her why, but most likely because she plans to come back), they traveled around although she has never been one to keep quiet, especially given how she enjoyed making her food run and scream.
When they were prepared to get out of Spain, Raicho found an abandoned dog. Most animals have the tendency to run away from monsters or attack them and monsters themselves don't really pay attention to animals, but this particular doberman seemed rather fond of Raicho. The mutual liking led to Raicho adopting him and named him Wendigo. He is a very well trained dog although he seems to be only loyal to Raicho, obeying her every order and protecting her fiercely. Unlike the monster, he was not vicious unless he thought he, his property or his owner were in danger, otherwise he has always stayed close to Raicho, growling at anyone that comes too close - petting him would generally not result in a bite, but he won't be very friendly to anyone. Wendigo is an incredibly intelligent doberman - sometimes almost a bit too much - but there has been no signs that he is not just a dog, even if Adam seems to harbour his suspicious.
Out of Spain and into England, Kulshedra ordered Raicho to revisit her old mansion but for that, the monster was forced to enter in the maze surrounding it; one would think that the monster would not have the capacity to go through the difficult maze, but Raicho was surprisingly at ease when she entered it. At least, until she found Ouroboros, the monster eating monster, wandering around it. He attacked her but she was able to escape by using her real ability (the terrible noises) for the first time (until then, Kulshedra assumed that her ability was wearing two skins).
From then on, Raicho has kept her mother safe as it was clear that Ouroboros was a very real threat - there had been rumours, but no monster really believed Ouroboros was real. However, Kulshedra made sure Raicho did not speak a word of Ouroboros identity to anyone and, being the good daughter she is, she kept her word, especially because there were other matters occupying her head: Adam. The human pet had decided to disappear, much to Raicho's annoyance, and she went to look for him - she could not afford for him to reveal her mother's new location.

I found this thing. I'm holding it. [ Like whoever she's talking to could see it. ] I don't think I am supposed to be here. Mommy will get mad and I really don't like it when she's mad at me. Because you shouldn't make Mommy mad. [ She sighs through her nose. ] I need to get back, I think it's time. I'm looking for my dog and a pouty-faced guy. His name is Wendigo. The dog, not the human -- his name is Adam, but I'll find him later, he can't hide for that long anyway.
[ Another pause. ]
It smells funny. [ You can hear the smile in her voice. ] It's "sin", right? Sin smells like this, doesn't it? [ She's talking to herself by now. ] Ha, sin. It's a funny word. Ssssin.
➡ THIRD PERSON Sin.
She knows that word, sin. It's a human word, she hears a lot of them say it. She hears some humans say it's sinful. She doesn't get it why there are things that are sinful. She had asked her mother once, why are things sinful, and her mother had simply scoffed and patted her head condescendingly, said that only humans worry about that sort of shit.
Sin.
It's a good word, makes a good sound, a good noise. It's small yet it carries a peculiar weight to it. Makes your tongue feel funny.
By then, she has not understood what is this city or that she is stuck here, so she doesn't seem too worried. She's a little upset about the fact that Wendigo isn't there with her and she supposes she is going to have to beat up Adam because he's not there either, the stupid pet human. She was looking for him when she ended up here. He doesn't usually run away because he knows Raicho will smack him like a bad dog when he hides for too long. It's how she expresses concern, after all, the brute thing, but this situation is not sitting well with her so perhaps a smack won't do. Maybe she'll bite him, hard, on the neck. Let him bleed a little bit. Punch his nose.
Those thoughts entertan her and she's smiling, wearing her boy face as she does so, hands in pockets, walking a bit slouched. The word, "sin", does not worry her so she does not with full attention to her surroundings, doesn't care to; she's far too comfortable back in her world to get worried now, especially as she doesn't realize where she is.
Still, things smell different here, all things, the air, the floor, the lights. The sounds are different. But she doesn't worry, not even about the short-skirted women in the dark corners - if anything, they should be scared of her, hanging around in dark corners. Don't they know, dark corners, closets, under the beds, that's where they like to hide best. Monsters, that is. And when they sleep, when a leg dandles out of bed, it's fun to grab them by the ankle and pull them under the bed and eat them while they kick and scream.
So why worry? There's no need for that. Sin is just a silly human word.
➡ THIRD PERSON II She doesn't know the name for it, the proper one, doesn't care to know about it, but it's always fun to look up from between her thighs and see that thing humans do best: moan in pleasure. She likes watching, a lot, and she absolutely loves to hear it for there are two things she loves to listen to: moans and screams. The woman gasps loudly and grips her brown hair as she keeps her face between her thighs, her fingers tightening their hold until it hurts (or, well, she supposes it would hurt if she really was the boy she's pretending to be). But then the strength is lost in them and she falls hard against the floor, not minding the dry thunk sound her skull makes as she comes down from it. Raicho smirks, narrowing her eyes. It's a frightening sight, but the woman isn't looking at her, at all.
"Almight Prophet. Where did you learn to do that?"
The words are barely audible between her gasps and Raicho sits up, leaning back on her knees as she watches the pretty body of the woman. She has dark skin, supple curves, keeps her hair short and black, kind of like a tuff. She likes it. It's pretty. Big lips, too, and her dark eyes are hiding behind her hands resting on her face. Wearing her male skin is as fun as it's wearing her female one, but sometimes it's easier to wear the opposite gender.
The monster doesn't answer though. She lays next to her and tilts her head, dark eyes watching the body. The woman peeks at the boy-skin looking at her and grins.
"Do you want me to return the favour, baby?"
That makes Raicho laugh and she shakes her head, pulling the woman's hand out of her jeans. "That's not what I want you for."
"Ow, you're hurting my hand."
"Yes. I am."
The woman doesn't find that amusing. In fact, she seems terrified the next moment, as she watches those brown eyes turn black, like oil swimming inside them and slowly filling them out. She screams and tries to tug away from Raicho, but she's having none of it. No, instead, she twists her hand slowly, like she's bending paper, until the bone snaps under the pressure, ripping through flesh. It only prompts her to scream more; that's exactly what the monster wants. It's always amazing to see how fast humans can change their expressions, from bliss to fear. How the heartbeat increases, how the blood flows, how the moans change to screams, how the throat becomes raw from yelping for help. She likes it best when they scream and squirm and say "please, please, please, I'll do anything."
She's messy when she eats. The sounds are wet, there's ripping of flesh and skin. She likes the way it feels under her teeth, the muscles giving into the strength of her jaw, the bones breaking and the blood. There's always so much blood.
"Please! Stop! I'll do anything!"
Raicho pulls back and watches her frightened face, the blood bubbling from her mouth. She's holding her down, watching her, fingers tightening around her throat until she's making sobbing sounds as she chokes. She can feel the windpipe tremble under the pressure. Yes, she is very pretty. But she's just a human. Food. A good fuck and a good snack. Raicho leans her face closer to hers, close enough until her lips are touching hers, and she bites down, teeth dragging on the supple flesh, and then pull until it tears from her face.
"Don't be stupid. What else could a human do except scream and bleed?" |

CHARACTERName: Maria Emilia Gorski Username: howhuman Fandom: Original ( Monsters! ) PB: Amelia Warner Icon: http://l-userpic.livejournal.com/111912478/39656914 APPEARANCEFairly average would be the first take on her. In fact, she could very well mingle with the crowd. There is nothing that makes her stand out much and she makes no effort in correcting that - in fact, she would rather keep it that way. She is a modest kind of person. Emilia is small; she is called "tiny French" on occasion due to her small frame (about 5'3" feet). While there is nothing outstanding about her on a first look, she does have a pleasant face and a very warm smile.
Most of the time she wears simple things and she happens to love an old (but loyal) blue sweater that her own mother made. She is very affectionate of it and can be seen wearing it quite often. Other than that, she goes for the more practical clothing items, such as jeans, work boots or anything that is comfortable. In fact, her practical nature can be reflected on how she dresses, with her long, brown hair mostly kept in a ponytail. Big eyes, light brown, and a full mouth. She has working hands, always keeps her nails short and isn't vain at all. While she isn't a slob, she doesn't spend much time on her appearance. She certainly does not accessorise herself except two things of sentimental value: her wedding ring and a golden locket around her neck that has the picture of her children and her wife (not officially, but they are pretty much married).
Of average frame, neither skinny nor fat, she does not have an athletic stand at all, but the fact that she is small and actually eats well have kept her in good shape and she has long quit smoking (though she indulges on occasion) so she looks a little under her thirty years of age.
Other than a rather nasty scar on her knee due to an accident when she was still pregnant, she has no particular marks. SEXUALITYWhen it comes to Emilia, her "sexuality" is really not very complex, yet at the same time, it is. See, as an average woman, she has never thought about her sexuality. She is not a prude or anything of the sort, she just never paid any mind to it. She never had any encounters that marked her sexual life as not average; she had her share of partners, but you can count with the fingers of one hand how many she has had. In fact, until Julia Grumley came along (and only months after did Em's brain made the connection of how she felt around Jules), she had never looked at a woman "that way".
It's also a good idea to have in mind that Emilia never gave much thought to her love life until it happened, as in, she never actually "chased" love, but rather it came to her. And while it may not look like, since she tends to be shy and reserved, once she is in a relationship, Em makes herself very vulnerable and since she has been hurt most of the time, she tends to avoid relationships. Or, well, used to. Jules came along.
As she grew up, she had a boyfriend or two until she met who she thought was the man of her life (spoiler alert: he was not). She had a good few years with him and even ended up getting pregnant, but he ended up disappearing on one night, leaving her all alone after she discovered he was cheating on her. A few months after, there was an ambush and everyone but Emilia ended up dying; she only survived because Jules ended up stumbling upon the hidden community and got her out of there.
So, in a way, she is a heterosexual that simply happened to fall in love with another woman. That is the simple part. The tricky part was coming to terms with her own feelings, but that's a whole other story. People were afraid of sitting in the dark in front of a computer, they were afraid to hear a sound because if they looked over their shoulders, a drool dripping monster could be waiting there.
But in exchange, his soul would be Hell's forever, condemned to be a slave of the sulfur for eternity.
Some humans were not happy with the arrangements.
➡ we stopped searching for the monsters under our beds when we realized they were inside us ➡ those are monsters: cast ➡ and six years later, the skies turned red ➡ the encyclopedia HISTORYThe oldest daughter of two, Emilia was born in Poland and lived there for a while before moving to France, given as Poland became a place of carnage when monsters and sulfur slaves used the country as their fighting stage. In fact, after the escape, the Gorskis travelled a bit through Europe until they found a group of human refugees heading towards Paris - apparently a well kept secret, the Catacombs de Paris had been turned into a place for humans to hide and live their lives as normal as they could during times when monsters fell from the holes in the skies.
Travelling to Paris was not easy, and it took them a long time to get there without losing a limb or being eaten by a monster. Once they did, her parents started to work as soon as they got there, putting Emilia and her brother Izaak in the improvised school. Her father worked as a business man before the monsters that came from above invaded Earth, but in Paris he became one of the many electricians always needed to manage the power that the Catacombs relied on. Her mother was one of the cooks at the dining hall for the food hunters, those that had to go to the surface to get them food without being spotted. In fact, Izaak would become one of them while Em became a helper at the kitchen.
When she turned fifteen, she began dating the son of one of her father's colleagues, but that didn't well even after nearly four years of dating. She left him because, basically, he was a gigantic dick and honestly she had had her eyes closed until her best friend, Françoise, realised that Gérard (the boyfriend) was basically using Emilia for food and sex and nothing else. He was a good actor, though, since he kept Emilia fooled about his love for her. After him, she didn't date anyone until Joel came along. Joel was one of the soldiers that went with the food hunters to the surface. They met via her brother and soon after began dating. However, it wasn't a relationship meant to be, with Joel became involved with someone else soon after they had broke up - he was not that interested in Emilia, apparently.
And then, when she turned twenty-two, she met Florian. An outsider rescued by a team of food hunters during their time on the surface, the man was apparently a photographer that was travelling the world and recording the war between humans and monsters. Emilia usually was the one that took the food to the improvised hospital, and Florian began talking to her every day when she did deliveries. As he recovered from his wounds, Emilia fell in love with him, and the two ended up dating for a couple of months before Florian had to leave so he could continue his passion of photographing the world. Em was heart broken and for a long time, she took refuge in the books Izaak stole from the surface, and in food - not that she ate away her feelings, but rather discovered an amazing talent for cooking instead of just helping out. It didn't take long until she became Head Chef of the cooking staff in the dining hall.
At the age of twenty-four, Emilia was surprised by Florian, who had decided to come back after nearly two years of having disappeared to pursue photography. Emilia should probably not have taken back a man who so easily disregarded her feelings, but she is only human so she did and eventually, they got married. It probably was a sign that she really should not have taken him back when she found out him cheating on her with one of the kindergarten teachers. Even so, after a hell of a fight and many weeks spent setting her thoughts straight, Emilia took him back.
But when Emilia got pregnant at the age of twenty-eight, it was only fair that she was absolutely freaked out. Having children was not something she was expecting, not something in their plans, so she was rather scared and had to wait an entire day for Florian to return. He did not, that night, so the following morning she went to the kindergarten building to find the same teacher who he had cheated on her with was with him. This time, Em could not bare the thought of even speaking to him ever again, so she left and turned to Izaak to tell him what had happened. Apparently her little brother, who was quite over-protective of her, gave him such a beating that he kicked Florian out of the Catacombs along with the kindergarten teacher. Nobody else knew of any of it, only that they were gone, and soon the quiet Emilia was the topic of gossip, which was truly infuriating. If not for Dennis, an American who had become Emilia's best friend after the whole cheating mess, she would probably would have gone mad.
During the following months, she was taken care of, and the possibility of twins became known when during one of her check-ups her mother informed her that she had a twin brother and that usually twins skipped one generation, so, if tradition followed, she should be next. Which only left her groaning.
Five months later, tragedy struck the Catacombs when a monster found out about the place. Em was, however, defended given her pregnant status and because Izaak had a lot, and a lot of friends willing to protect her. The carnage that had struck the place was sickening, and for 24 hours Emilia was stuck under a heavy wood structure that had fallen from the ceiling until salvation came. Salvation had a name, too: Julia Grumley, a lonesome traveller from England.
Incidentally, also the woman Emilia would fall in love with, but we'll get to that later.
Julia - Jules, actually, that's what she prefers - took care of Emilia after she got her out of the Catacombs, taking her to her Volkswagen van and helping her heal her leg, which unfortunately would never quite be the same. Nevertheless, she was very lucky, since Jules managed to get her back on her own two feet. For a couple of months, however, Emilia was quite depressed, devastated because of the attack of the Catacombs where she had lost everything, her friends and family, remaining only with the babies inside her. She became extremely attached to Jules, however, and they decided to stick together, as friends and travelling partners.
As the due date closed in, Jules contacted her parents and they decided to meet so that Charlotte, Julia's mother, could help Em with the birth, which was a little more complicated than what was expected, especially because apparently they really were the twins her mother warned about! Deciding to stick around for a couple of weeks to let Em recover and to get more acquaintance with the twins, the Grumleys decided to make sure Emilia had everything she needed. Apparently being a Grumley meant being protective.
Since the escape from the Catacombs, however, Em had been suspicious of Jules' nature and Charlotte ended up revealing the secret, thinking that Emilia was aware of Jules being a hybrid. Jules, who was nearby, heard the conversation and panicked, running out - but Em went after her. They had a long argument about it, Em hurt about the lack of trust and Jules insisting that she had to go be with "her own kind", which was only fuel to the fire. Eventually, Em understood why Jules had not told her, since the only person she had told she was a hybrid had betrayed her. Telling this person had resulted in her being taken by a group of humans and tortured until exhaustion - or, better yet, until the monster won over and she killed everyone, but she omitted that one detail back then.
When they hit the road again, it took Emilia a couple of months to work out why she was so attached to Jules, why she was so terrified of being abandoned, and eventually she figured out she had a gigantic crush on her, which was scary at first so she kept it for herself, but soon after they became romantically involved.
One year or so after, tragedy struck. Again.
Newborns are rare since monsters rained upon Earth and twins even more so. A group obsessed with the coming of twins that would save humanity learned of the Chloe and Matthias, Emilia's babies. They intercepted them and with sulfur slaves at their service, Jules was overpowered and they took Emilia away while (unbeknownst to her) Jules was beaten into a bloody pulp. While Jules was told that Emilia had taken advantage of this "rescuing" by making sure her children were not near a hybrid, Emilia was told that Jules had given into the monster long time ago and was just keeping her for entertainment. To prove it that Jules did not love her, Levi, one of the sulfur slaves, gave her their ring - a ring of symbolic union they had gotten for each other - telling her Jules had thrown it away. Only Emilia didn't believe a word of it, but the lies and torture had gotten into Jules' head and she escaped the cult's nest while Emilia and the twins were confined to a guarded tower.
During the following months, Emilia would always try to escape until she eventually became a nuisance and Levi, who believed that he and Emilia belonged together, made sure she would never leave, putting a shocking collar around her neck that would taze her every time she tried to leave the perimeter. She began to eat less and less, only focused on her babies, never letting anyone go near them - only Em would bathe them and feed them and play with them. They were off limits to everyone - especially Levi.
For nearly six months, Em has been up in that tower, only taking the occasional walk so that she is given the illusion of freedom (a stupid idea in her opinion, since she as a collar around her neck) and to play outside with the twins; curiously, she doesn't really have that many guards around her. In fact, the only one that tends to go with her is Levi, who seems to enjoy to be around her, more than it's considered healthy. TALENTS/ABILITESYou couldn't really call it an ability, but she does have the knack of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Asides from that, she's a very average person. There is no noteworthy talent: no magic, no mind games, no musical talent (in fact, don't let her sing in the shower, the mirrors might shatter). She does know how to speak fluently in Polish, French and English and grasps some Spanish, enough to get by.
She knows how to juggle though she has never been taught. She can tie a cherry stem into a knot in her mouth. She has the uncanny talent of always waking up at the exact right time if she sets her mind to it and she can fake 21 different accents in English.
Oh, and you should taste her cooking. It's divine. She can improvise delicious food and drinks out of nothing. That's the most noteworthy talent - true talent! PERSONALITY" You're an old romantic, at heart. It's so beautifully a cliché. "-- Julia Grumley on Emilia ➡ In films, books, and other media, usually there are heroes, the good guys, and villains, the bad guys, Emilia would probably be more of a background character, the kind you don't really pay attention because the truth is she is neither good nor bad - she just is, standing on the grey morality grounds of humanity, abiding by the laws and pattern behaviour of the society she lives in expects of her. Some days, she will feel generous and happy, and yet she will probably not get out of her way to help others unless she truly believes they need help. Other days, she will be greedy and even mean. In the end, though, she is but a regular, everyday, average human. She doesn't play the role of either heroine nor villain. In fact, if she was to play a role in a film, it would be that of a background character whose line consists of nothing but an accidental cough.
Nevertheless, and exactly because she is human, she has many traits that make her who she is, certain traits that distinguish her from others, that make her Emilia and not Roxanne or Françoise or any other background character.
With a story such as Emilia's, one would think that she is perceptible to change but the truth is while she can and will adapt to new situations, new places, she is actually a bit of an inflexible person that prefers stability and routine to the uncertainties of change, which can be a bit strange considering that she keeps travelling with her family, never stopping in one place in particular, but if you think about it, that is her routine. Nevertheless, she does have a longing for a place for herself and her family, a safe haven she can call home (you know, other than the van she lives in). As a practical person, though, she will try and get around the problem; this is not to say that she will try to fix it, since that would be lying, but she will try to find a solution at the very least, at least something that will solve the part that concerns her and her family, even if not in the most conventional way. Thankfully, most of the time problems that she encounters don't get under her thick skin - in fact, there is very little that does. She is a rather placid, peaceful soul that tends not to stress about things. She likes to make her own path at her own pace; she isn't the best individual to be a leader and while she does believe in independence and likes the concept, she would rather follow someone she trusts (and those can be counted by her fingers) than to lead, which isn't to say that she is a person that has no goals of her own, because she has, but she just isn't the best one to deal with people. In fact, she keeps to herself and is naturally a shy person who doesn't allow much proximity from strangers, so she would be ill-suited for a leader. She will take charge, however, if needed.
On the other hand, it's true that she can be rather exhausting because she has a terrible, stubborn argumentative side, especially when she's in a bad mood, but Emilia is a very patient woman and she's the kind of person you can blindingly rely on. She transmits a sense of security not everyone is capable of and it's not a fake one either, for she is able to provide that peaceful stability if the other person is willing to do so, and though she can be blunt and brutish to the point of being tactless when she talks to people, unaware of what they may or may not think of her, Emilia has the natural talent of not knowing what to say or do when a friend is down.
When it comes to friends, she is a pleasant person (if quiet spoken), but she isn't a social butterfly. In fact, she doesn't really branch out too much when it comes to meeting other people. Most of the time, she isn't the one taking the first step, which isn't to say that she is a socially inept person; she would just rather keep to herself and sit in her warm corner with a cup of coffee and a book. Indeed, she may look aloof to most people outside her circle of friends, but Emilia is a warm-hearted person and a very caring one, too, which is very clear when she handles her children. At first, she never thought she would be a good mother, but she was wrong because she does have a very tender side to her - which doesn't mean she isn't strict when it comes to certain things. She has to be strict, with others and herself, given the world she lives in. You never know what is waiting for you when you turn a corner.
She can be prone to fits of jealousy and possessive of her things (and friends), but one of her worst qualities is how resentful she can be towards the people that hurt her and how hypocritical she will come off as. She doesn't take kindly to betrayal (a loose term here) and even if she forgives you, you can be sure she did not forget it. On the other hand, she's a loving person that will be willing to help those close to her - but will hardly reach out for a stranger.
Most people will point out how controlled Emilia is because, no doubt about that, one of her distinguishing traits is definitely her self-control. Yes, she is tactless and sometimes a little bit too honest, but you will hardly see her turn to anger as a very down to Earth person. While she isn't the most good natured or polite girl around the block, Emilia avoids fights and quarrelling at all costs. The truth is, she will avoid any kind of situation that involves serious commitment mostly because she thinks she will end up failing and disappointing others and that is a feeling she would rather not have to stand. However, when she is face with such a situation, when she involves herself in one, she will carry it out to the end; she's very resilient.
Sometimes, she will show signs of being a little too judgemental and though she does side-eye some things, she appears to be more than she really is. Because she mostly keeps to herself - out of timidness and out of simply being the way she is, quiet and calm.
➡ Object, Other than the two wedding rings (hers and Jules') and a vintage sort of locket with tiny pictures, Emilia will be bringing (against her will) the tase-collar around her neck simply because she is unable to pull it out. Asides from that, the twins will be bringing along their favourite stuffed toys, a yellow otter and a green bunny. REASON FOR PLAYINGFirst, this character was first created for a very normal verse. She wasn't really planned on having this huge dimension, a Polish-French immigrant from 1993 with a talent for cooking, but eventually I got extremely attached to her. So much, I decided to "AU" her into this MONSTERS!: six years later verse.
I have not been in a game for quite a long time and since I was reeled in by Julia Grumley's player, we decided bringing Em and the twins would be a cool idea - but even better because while we are used to musebox them in their "recent timeline", these two will now take a different route as they are to meet before Emilia was rescued from the cult.
Alternatively, GODSSince the Twelve Point Divinity are the ones who favour the residents of Baedal, the ones who take interest, I would think that the character herself would have no real choice on picking the favoured god; which is good, because, if she could have gotten away with it, she would most likely not pick one. She believes in a God (yes, she has faith even if it's all messed up in her world), so picking one from twelve would have made her scoff.
After reading through their likings I would think that Shada would take much interest in Emilia since she is a both a lover and a mother - and, in a way, a caretaker too, especially given how she used to cook for the soldiers and food hunters of her community back in Paris. Obviously, this would also be one of those things I, as a player, would cackle while lighting strikes in the background since Emilia is a reserved and keeps her romantic life behind closed doors. And it's pretty horribly ironic the fact that she got cheated on so many times. So let's rub it in a little more. SAMPLES ➡ NETWORK ENTRY ( video. )
[ The CiD feed first shows a little kid. Big eyes, curly dark hair, and an interested look (quite upclose) to her. In the background there is a constant noise - banging on the door and then some words that aren't quite distinguishable. But the kid is just watching the screen interested until another one comes, puffy eyes. About two years old or so, maybe less, maybe more. It's hard to say. They look pretty alike, although the puffy-eyed one has shorter hair. A boy, possibly.
They are then moved around, like someone is picking them up and the toddler holding the CiD leans back against whoever is picking them up - who has also noticed the CiD. Qu'est que ce--?
A female voice and then the device is being picked up and the face that appears looks confused and tired. There's something around her neck, like a collar, and she looks exhausted besides tired. A bit scared too. Curly dark hair held back in a ponytail, big hazel eyes. ]
Is there... anyone out there? Please-- we're trapped in here. They-- My kids are scared. [ She adjusts them, holds them tighter, and the CiD is able to record a better look, the two twins and the woman. ] Please, get us out.
➡ ARRIVAL POST For Emilia, there is nothing out of the ordinary in waking up in a place without any means to escape. For the last five to six months, she has been like so, trapped in a tower, surrounded by sulfur slaves - watched over by Levi. What she isn't used to is waking up in a room different from the one she has been forever trapped. She wakes up on the floor and quickly gets up, looking around frantically. Her twins, where are they? Where are her children?
Thankfully, a little hiccup from the little boy makes her turn around sharply and she sighs in relief as she walks over the very confused toddlers; Matthias looks like he is about to cry while Chloe has the biggest pout ever. Speaking softly in French, Emilia holds her hands out for the babies to hold on to them and gets them up. From her crouching position, she brings them close to her chest and sighs, kissing their heads as she hugs them.
She walks over to the door and tries to peek outside, not sure if anyone will come. She bangs one time and listens. Nothing. Then she bangs again, three times, and calls out.
"Eh! Il y'a quelqu'un ici? Moi and mes enfants sommes piégés ici." Nothing. She looks over her shoulder to them and rubs her forehead, before turning around again. "S'il vos plaît? lls ont peur."
She knows how to speak English, of course she does, but after months of refusing to do so she automatically goes to French. She waits for a while longer before gritting her teeth, banging on the door which scares the twins. She hushes them and turns around to the door again.
"Get us out, please."
She waits for a while longer before starting to feel really worried. Walking up to the toddlers, she finally notices the pamphlet on the table. Frowning, she grabs it before sitting the twins on her lap, hushing them with soft words as she reads the words written in Polish (it is her native language, after all, even though she has spent more years in France than anywhere else). Frowning, she rubs her forehead, very, very confused.
"Qu'est que ce...?" And then she notices Chloe is holding some odd device. She grabs it and frowns, not sure what it is, but it has a recording light on. She turns to the thing and tilts her head, frowning. "Is there... anyone out there? Please-- we're trapped in here. They-- My kids are scared. Please, get us out."
