Claiming for sirius_black is now open. Each prompt can be claimed multiple times. When a prompt is claimed, your mod will mark it in a different colour so you know it's been claimed but that should not stop you from claiming whatever prompt you want.

Submissions are due November 15. You will get an email with confirmation within 48 hours of you signing up. You can start your project anytime. You cannot post your final work before the fest is over, anywhere. You must post your work in the collection and wait for the MOD to reveal it. If you post your fic/art before you submit, it will not count as part of the fest.

This was chugging around Twitter and tumblr, and I thought I'd share it here too, see what y'all think of it. Personally, I'm all for it. I can totally adhere to these basics...

The only real push-back I've seen to these is from people who want to play fandom police; they want to feel free to confront "bullies" and point out how your ship or kink is "unhealthy", "dysfunctional", and that most hallowed of buzzwords "problematic." Yanno what? We know. We KNOW that what we groove on is sometimes less than wholesome. That's why there are tags and warnings. It certainly doesn't mean endorsement of the behavior in real life. I play an evil mobster-type in my husband's D&D campaign. That character has done some truly heinous things. I CAN TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE THINGS AND REALITY. It is not romanticizing bad behavior. Nor would I bring some of the things my id enjoys into the real world. And I would never...NEVER...shame someone for something they write in fiction. Or even draw.

Fiction can be a reflection of reality, but it in no way should be impinged by it. Censorship is a horrible crime upon creativity, and we NEED creativity in every facet of human existence.

Wow, okay, that got a little deeper than I meant it to! Anywho, these Three Rules are pretty awesome, in my book. With a sort of unspoken #4: The Golden Rule. Do unto others etc. etc. :)

Rose is at home and doing well!!!

Rose, a wonderful kitty, had to have emergency surgery a few days ago. Jill and Sooj, her adoring parents would greatly appreciate any support in paying the rather hefty vet bill.

Rose ate some cloth and it got bunched up in her intestines.

Now her fur parents have a very very large vet bill to pay. It is around $1600. :-(

If you are able to donate or share this, it would be greatly appreciated!!!

I will update this entry if/when the vet bill is taken care of.

I decided to make a friends cut since there were quite a few journals in my f-list that hadn't been updated in years. There were also some peeps I feel like I had nothing in common, and we rarely talked. If you can still see this post then we're still friends :)
