The Unexpected [Nov. 11th, 2008|05:59 pm]
mitzilance
I use my car at most 2 times per week.  Sometimes I go 2 weeks without driving.  So, When I got into my car and noticed a mildewy smell, I was puzzled as to where the smell was coming from.  I though perhaps since it was time for my 60,000 mile tune-up, maybe somehow water got into a filter or a hose got clogged and my car was growing life!  But the boyfriend checked out the engine and everything seemed ok.  Then we looked in the back and noticed the carpet was wet...in the ceiling.  That's when we found the bullet hole.  Found the bullet too.  >80

The trouble with driving [Jul. 7th, 2008|11:24 pm]

[mood |aggravatedaggravated]

*Was driving in Downtown.
*Got hit by a taxi cab while I was stopped at a red light.
*The taxi driver looked at me and then took off.
*I chased him caught him at a red light
*Boyfriend got out and tried to talk to him.
*Taxi driver took off when light turned green.
*I chased taxi driver again.
*Caught him at another red light.
*Got out and tried to talk to him again.
*The two people paying for fare in the taxi got out.
*"We have nothing to do with this, we saw nothing" was their response.
*Taxi driver took off again.
*Got Taxi drivers license and cab number as well as cab company.
*Called cops.  Told the cops of the exact location of the cab and which way he was driving.
*Waited for the cops who said they would come meet us.
*Flagged 4 cop cars while waiting....only 1 stopped.
*The cop car that stopped said they had no record of our call.
*They called for another responder to come talk to us and left.
*Finally talked to the cops after waiting 1 hour and 15 min on the side of the road.
*Cops took a report in 20 min.  They asked me for ALL OF MY INFORMATION as well as my statement.
*Final response from cops, "There will be an investigation...by the state patrol"
Why would the state patrol investigate if it happened in the middle of DOWNTOWN SEATTLE?!?!  That's SPD's jurisdiction.
SOOOO...final lesson...nothing will happen to the cab driver.  His word against mine.  He'll probably buff out his bumper and deny EVERTHING and that is all.
What really pisses me off if that I had to wait over an hour for the cops to show up...I tried to flag 3 other cop cars down and they looked at me and passed my by....if the one out of four cops didn't call someone out...no one would have ever shown up....and in order for a cop to come out...I better be bloody and dead on the street...because that way I block traffic and there will be a bunch of people calling the cops to remove my mangled carcass.

cameras buyers....beware! [Jun. 5th, 2008|08:49 pm]

[mood |apatheticapathetic]

My family told me to choose what I wanted for my Birthday and they would buy it. I chose the Canon Rebel XSi. Went to Tall's Camera shop in the U-Village, asked them to match a price I had seen at Kits Cameras and they did. Only thing was that the only camera box they had  in stock had obviously been dropped. Since I didn't want that one, they sent me to Northgate mall to get a new sealed never opened box. Do to paper work problems, I had to wait for over 20 min. to get my camera.  Finally got the camera, went home and plugged in the battery to charge.

As I was fiddling through the contents of my box:
  • "Huh!" I thought, "The camera has no plastic covering over the LCD and there are some finger prints as well"
  • "Huh!" I thought again "The battery only took 15 min to fully charge!"
  • I open the manual and note that it takes a full 2 hours to charge a new battery from empty to full.
  • I turn on my brand new camera and think, "Huh!"  the date is correct.  and the time has been set as well!"  o.O
  • Now I know the box has been opened and the camera has been fiddled with, but I am still willing to believe that this is a new camera.  Like when you buy a new car.  It doesn't have zero miles on it.  I may have a 100 or so.
  • I take my first picture and the counter reads 100-6819
  • "WHAT THE HELL!" I think.  "O.K.....this camera is definitely going back!  6819 pictures already shot on my camera IS NOT NEW!  I think some creep employee took this thing out for the weekend, and put it back in the box afterwards.
Luckily, with the support of my boyfriend, I take the camera back to the U-village and explain all my points and they give me a full refund, which was a huge relief, because I expected them to give me hassle about it.  I think telling them that over 6,000 pictures taken in 4 hours was not really possible.    I am wondering if this is some sign that I shouldn't buy a camera for the time being.

I heard that the Wii Fit was a pretty good game, but I admit, I still had my reservations. After playing Wii Fit with my brothers, I could seriously see me on this game for many hours. :)

WHAT!!!! [Mar. 28th, 2008|11:49 am]

I just read on the CNN web site that there are an "estimated 20,500 "non-U.S. citizens" -- dubbed "green-card warriors" -- currently serving in the military." On top of that, US citizenship is not guaranteed to those green card warriors!

I long for some sun [Mar. 10th, 2008|07:10 pm]

Got on the internet today and my iGoogle page popped up. Chiang Mai, Thailand is 89 degrees and sunny. Sigh. I know I just started work, but I can't wait to get some vacation time under my belt. As soon as possible, I'm going back to the hill tribes.
