Teru was significantly less glazed this year, Zoe.
Back from L.A.! Glay was awesome. :3 It was... glayt? *bricked* I really, really wish my donatsu kyodai, 
bakemonokun could have been there too! ;__;
I'll admit, I'm a pretty casual Glay fan. I have a passing fondness or at least recognize of a lot of their songs and I never really, really disliked them even if I used to think Teru couldn't sing for balls--that's just it though, I have no idea what happened but SUDDENLY, TERU, YOU ARE OKAY BY ME, MAN. Part of it is that I think he is really freaking adorable and he totally endeared himself to me. Even if it's nonsensical, an appreciation for the person(s) gives me an increased appreciation for the music they make (see also: arashi, dammit. XD) Oh holy shit, he was really, really cute in his interactions with the fans. But moreover, he really did sound good live. :D
-Jiro wore silver sparkly sequined pants (and matching hi-top sneakers) that only a JE costume designer could love. D: (I know I've been poisoned completely, because I thought it was pretty cute. :|) It was cute when he snagged a fan from someone in the front row and fanned himself, then pocketed it. (At least when Teru did that, he gave it back to the fan he took it from X3)
- I have decided Hisashi is like a cat that hides behind the couch when you want to pet it. He just seems so... asocial. Though he did crack me andkamagrian up when he snubbed teru's attempts at fanservice the first night. X3 I think I'd like him a lot better if he wasn't so avoidant.
-Teru has totally perfected the art of looking at everyone and at no one in particular simultaneously--a good skill for a performer to have, everyone wants to feel like they're being looked at specifically. X3
-I have the mental image that when Takuro opens his closet, it is full of rows and rows of identical sleeveless, black trenchcoat/duster jackets and skinny pants. Seriously, does he ever wear anything else?
-I really liked Teru's ensemble, it was very flattering (did he lose weight or something?) and his hair was a style I particularly like *_* (Kind of hyde-esque, dyed brown with bits of it twisted and pinned back, with bangs in the front) LAWL, he took his shirt off on Saturday. He's um... less mooby than hyde, but also less defined overall. WHY AM I EVEN ELABORATING.
-I was really surprised by the demographics! Last year, there were a TON of Japanese fangirls who flew over to see them. This year, there were still some that flew over, but there were a lot more American fans (so it seemed to me, anyway) and moreover, there were a ton of GUYS in the audience! Teru did a call and response bit for Starless Night (which was really fun, actually and not like OMFG GET ON WITH IT MY THROAT IS KILLING ME a la all the nya nya'ing Gackt made us do for Mirror. XD) and the 2nd night, he asked just the girls first, which was, predictably loud--but then when he asked for just the guys, they were really loud, too.
-Speaking of the audience, apparently Glay fans are made up of people that look exactly like people I know. There was anuranus_sama doppelganger in the crowd, and also someone who looks IDENTICAL to one of my coworkers, weird! AND SPEAKING OF WEIRD, on the first night, there was this one dude near the front who looked like a really, really angry mannequin. His face was like >8| the ENTIRE TIME and he seemingly never moved. Once I'd spotted him, I kept getting distracted by how terrifying he looked. XD *terrible* Oh and there was this total bro' looking guy with a trucker hat and popped collar polo shirt in the pit, too. o_o (no idea why that is worth mentioning--uhh, glay's appeal transcends jrock fan stereotypes? Or... I'm just an asshole, I don't know.)
-They played a good mix of songs, but somehow I think I liked last year's sets better. X3 But this was good too, don't get me wrong. And I know the fact they ended on I'm In Love was a big deal for all the super enthusiastic fans there, I felt almost like an outsider observing it. X3 But it was really nice, singing all together. ♥
...there's probably more I could mention, but yeah, I was just glad to be there. Teru promisepromisepromised that they'd come back. And I'll probably see them again when they do. X3

pining for the beastmaster
I keep having these stupid urges to WRITE FANFIC. I don't even KNOW, man. I am totally not a writer. And what's worse is that I want to but nothing ever comes of it. I know I mentioned it in my last post, that drabble meme. So, hrm. Bleh. I'll go for it. In the comments, give me a fandom/pairing and some kind of prompt and I'll try my best to produce SOMETHING. I feel kind of bad. Usually, I see these kinds of things as some kind of gift to friends and fans of a person's writing, but this is me just selfishly seeing if I even CAN write something. And not even having ideas of my own! Two caveats: a.) be gentle, and try to stick to fandoms I know and b.) don't hold it against me if nothing comes of it? .___. (no one will be more sad than me if I fail at this, though. XD) AMENDMENT C.) NO INCEST, DAMMIT, PICC. *punts*

As promised, a ton of screencaps from L'Arc~en~Ciel's SMILE 2004 Tour DVD. I made these with tmpegenc/photoshop, and they range in size from 10~40k. There are 257 of them. Aaand, as one might expect, these are pathetically hyde-centric.
