silent green is an event venue and independent project that has found a unique home in Berlin in the historic premises of the former crematorium in Wedding. Founded in 2013, the privately run cultural quarter sees itself as a protected space where people can think, research and experiment. The focus is on cross-formal work: The boundaries of individual artistic disciplines are to be pushed in order to link them into new, hybrid forms.

Gerichtstrasse 45 is a commercial courtyard of the Berlin Gründerzeit in Berlin Wedding, which was originally used as a brewery. This courtyard was spared from the clear-cut redevelopment in Wedding of the post-war years, and fortunately also from the second wave of courtyard gutting of the 80s, when most other backyard buildings of this block were torn down; the owner at the time resisted it, because her grandfather had built it.
