I am your Spring
Spindly, unspoken
Mending your dreams
Faded and broken
Sweet woodland grasses
Kissed by the sun
Nurture my soul
Teach me to run
Delve in my eyes
Of nature’s unknown
I hold your heart
I am your home

I am spring, I am home ~ Lovely ode to the gentleness of nature ~
Love this… especially fond of spindly, broken, and the way you have used the rhymes… there something reminding me of Emily Dickinson
Gentle and peaceful as I imagine this creature to be.
There’s a serenity about these lines that’s soothing.
That last stanza is perfection, Mish.
ohhhhhhh…..this just made my day….added gentleness to the grey rainy view out my window. Thank you, Mish. The sweet beauty of a fawn — lovely.
I like the idea of being held in the heart of nature.
Like Lillian,I’m peering through gray cumulous belly dancers, & sheets of Spring spittle. Your lovely poem, yes, putting me in mind of the Romantic poets from a gentler time, sprouts smile & hope midst precipitation & darkness,
That is so lovely Mish! I love the rhymes, especially in the first stanza.
There were deer in our garden today, eating the grass and shrubs, if you please! When I went to hang out the washing, they were just outside the back door, They ran off behind the shed. One came back later but disappeared when it started to rain.
Teach me to run – love this line!
Thank you for this amazing prompt and this poem! This is such a beautiful and peaceful poem. We frequently have deer in our yard and sometimes we get to see a fawn in the spring. I love the line “I am your spring”. Perfection. Gentle, full of new life….
Nature does indeed hold our heart. What could be more beautiful than the fawn, trembling, running and playing in the meadow. Perfect picture Grace
The rhyme in this lulls me, soft as that fawn’s fur.
oh the i am spring. i am your home line. This is so beautiful. ❤
nature is our home. 🙂
This is a tender and lively touch of Nature, just as spring should be. Beautiful.
Such a tender look at spring. Perhaps it is my home, as spring is my favourite season
Beautiful post. Love the picture and the poem. 🙂
There are few things quite as spring like as a fawn. You capture the grace and shyness beautifully.
Nature is our home, so true; I’ve seen quite a few new fawns and their mothers about this spring..as many as 7 grazing at a time and they disappear into nowhere. Lovely poem.
Such a sweet piece. 🙂
This poem gave me a feeling of awe and mystery… Well written and thanks for hosting!
I hold your heart
I am your home
Spring has such a hold that binds
