HARDLY EVER UPDATED POINTLESS DRIVEL

*Blows the dust off the LJ*

Who knows how long this has been sat untouched, a good few years I guess.  I know if I could be bothered, I could easily check.  But I seriously cannot be bothered too right this moment.

So it appears I've somehow managed to change my layout.  I was still using S1 apparently, which it appears to be "so last year" or whenever it was I changed mine.  So now I'm all modernised at S2'd!

I shall not make any promises to keep this updated, as I know I will fall short (Not that it will ever get read!).  But I thought as I had a spare few moments more of procrastination left before I really should do some work, it seemed the thing to do.

Really enjoying Appocolypitc, End of the World type novels at the moment, not a complete reflection of my state of mind, so don't go worrying too much.  But really enjoyed John Christopher's "Death of Grass" & Neville Shute's "On the beach".  Not reading anythign currently which is driving me to distraction, I sit night after night looking at the bookshelf and nothing is begging for me to read it, so if anyone has any recommendations, of any genre, I'd love to hear them.

My music is currently based around Angus & Julia Stone, The Swell Season, Frightened Rabbit and Thomas Dybdahl.

Not sure I really have much to say...

... but I feel as if i should blob something, just cause. No real idea why, just have the urge to type a load of uninteresting nothingness, fill a bit of my time, waste a bit of yours.

Tired is mainly how I feel at the moment, I have an aching knee too which I really should do something about now (I injured it in April) but I hate going to the doctors. Though this past weekend has been nice as the sun has actually shown itself!!! Yes!!! Unbelievable I know! You'd think it was July!!! About time too sunshine!!!

Football is going well, impressed with the results so far, not so much by the actual performances, but its nice to see Aston Villa 4th in the league... not sure how long it will last, but I shall enjoy it for the time being. laughing

Not too long to go till the start of the NHL.

Reading a book about a leprosy colony now... lol. Nice.

Mainly listening to... oh, I can't really think, just the usual mixture of stuff I guess.

A week and counting!

In 7 days time it will be my last working day for only about 2 weeks but I tell you I can't wait! I've been non stop flat out since my last break, which was January! Which seems like a life time away. And who enjoys a break in January? lol.

So, up early, and I mean Early next Friday morning to go on our road trip holiday to Slovenia! Last year we drove to Sicily, through France, Germany, Switzerland and then down Italy, stopping off in various places... all very beautiful! then on the way back from my relatives in Sicily we had 4 nights in Tuscany, which was so goreous and far too expensive, but hey, it was our second attempt at a honeymoon.

This year, the trip to Slovenia is shorter and we have a stop off in Germany, at Stuttgart on the way there, we're not taking too much time over the journey there and will arive in Slovenia on Saturday. We hope to take in some more places on the way back. I can't wait! I need a rest and some countryside!

but thats in 7 days time, I still got an evil amount of work and deadlines! LOL so I better get back to it!

I think its still August...

We've had some crazy weather this year. June and July it was so hot here in the UK, with temps reaching the early 40's, thats just not right. Now, August has been more like October/November! Rain and wind and storms, the more typical British weather, everything is confused, the leaves are already turning on the trees, I reckon by the end of september there will be no leaves left on the trees. I love Autumn, but I like it October!

People just don't seem to care what we're doing to the planet. I'm no eco tree hugger but it worries me, I want a world for my children's children's children to enjoy.

Just finished the first of my CSI novel purchases.. quite enjoyed it, nice easy read. Now I'm onto "Survivor" by Chuck Palahniuk, its started well, hope it continues this way.

If anyone has ANY, and I mean ANY Music recommendations, my ears are open to anything, I really appreciate it.

Must update my LJ userpics.. I'm even tempted to do my own layout... GO ME!

Hunger and Tiredness

I think I am blogging for the sake of blogging, to keep my mind off the hole in my gut that is increasing by cm's every minute. But obviously this was futile as I am thinking about my stomach still... gah! If only I hadn't eaten my lunch so early and all at once.. roll on home time!

Hunger makes me as irritable as Tiredness does.. and at the moment I am also tired, so you can imagine what pleasant company I right now. I don't think I've upset anybody yet, but woe betide anybody getting in my way on the drive home. Be Warned.

pointless blog. thanks.

Some idiot has superglued a piece of Blue card to the Bonnet(Hood) of my car! WHY????

Took it to where we get the vans at work mended if they have any body damage and they've put solvent on it but not sure how it will react with the laquer and the paint work, so I may need it grinding off and my whole Bonnet(hood) resprayed = £250!

Cheers! Thanks a lot you stupid Ass Hole..

5 Songs beginning with "S"

sobran kindly provided me with the letter S

Reply to this, and I'll give you a letter. You'll have to post five songs in
your journal starting with this letter.

1. Shiver - Coldplay (Acoustic version preffered)
Just a beautifully sad song, I'm sure we've all related to unrequited love and feelings at one point or another.

2. Scattered Black And Whites - Elbow
A wonerfully worded song about nostalgia and returning to your roots from time to time.

3. Stella Was A Diver And She Was Always Down - Interpol
I just love the general sound of this, not excellently produced or anything. Just raw. Pure sex, well.. read in to the lyrics what you will!

4. Solid Air - John Martyn
A song written about his friend Nick Drake, an amazing artist in his own right who sadly took his own life. Beautiful and haunting.

5. Sweet Jane - Velvet Underground
Need I say more? Sweeeeeet Jaaaaaannne awesome.

Forgetful as ever...

I always forget to update this thing.. mainly because I don't think anyone actually has any real interest in what's going on in my life.. maybe there is, and I salute you!

Thinking of getting a nice paid account again so I can give myself a nice layout. If i can get my head round the LJ way fo doing things! give me some HTML and a bit of CSS any day!

Really getting back into reading again. I can't believe I lasted so long without losing myself in a good book. But I'm ploughing through them at a fair rate of knots at the moment. I'm quite proud of myself.

On a musical tip I'm finding Musical scores a bit of a good route to persue. Throughly enjoying the OST from the Film Code 46...

still 14gb of my 30gb Ipod to fill! Will I ever do it
