This means that it's over for explicit writers. If your writing contains any sex at all, posting it means you risk five years in prison, and it will be on someone's archive, so there's no way to, say, privately e-mail to one's adult friends.

The Bush administration's proposal would require commercial Web sites to place "marks and notices" to be devised by the Federal Trade Commission on each sexually explicit page. The definition of sexually explicit broadly covers depictions of everything from sexual intercourse and masturbation to "sadistic abuse" and close-ups of fully clothed genital regions.

During his speech, Gonzales also warned that Internet service providers must begin to retain records of their customers' activities to aid in future criminal prosecutions--a position first reported by CNET News.com--and indicated that legislation might be necessary there as well. Internet service providers say they already cooperate with police and appear to be girding for a political battle on Capitol Hill over new regulations they view as intrusive.

Once this law is passed, it would be very advisable not to post any more explicit fic or icons unless you wish to risk arrest. . .

I went to the college fair at the Convention Center today (rode the trolley down there, hung around downtown San Diego alone a bit too ^_^) and I found out that the process for a community college student with a 3.0 or above (I have a 3.84) and 24 or more units to transfer in is basically a rubber stamp process, and that if I wanted to, if admissions haven't closed, I could even transfer for THIS FALL. I'm so praying they haven't and I can still apply.

YAY YAY YAY I am going to Hawaii! ^_^ YAY!

On other, more mundane news, I coughed up $16 at a hair salon near where I live and got my first "butchy" haircut today. It looks a lot like Gackt's haircut in this icon, and pictures are soon forthcoming once I can snag my sister's camera. Oddly enough, my family even says I look good with short hair. Maybe, just maybe, they're beginning to accept me as I am somewhat.

It's been a very good day.
