Objective

ReSOMA is an evidence-based platform providing researchers and stakeholders with opportunities for cooperation as forum for a sustained, regular and relevant research-social-policy dialogue.

Reflexivity

Launched in 2018 under the H2020 programme, ReSOMA fosters reflexivity among the research and stakeholder communities. It promotes exchanges between experts from civil society, practitioner networks and the academia who look at similar topics from different angles.

Evidence-based solutions to urgent problems

Members of the ReSOMA community work together on specific topics and come up with solutions to real-life, urgent problems. Every year, through its Steering Group, ReSOMA identifies 9 relevant policy topics in the area of asylum, migration and integration where key EU-level decisions are likely to be taken and have a major impact on policies across the EU.

High applicability

The evidence collected through the ReSOMA platform is highly applicable to the European policy debate. The 9 annual policy topics are indeed identified by consulting with:

Members of the Advisory Board gathering key policymakers on issues where evidence is needed

Consultations

Consultations are regularly organised around the policy topics every year. Experts can provide their input and share relevant resources in the “Discussion” section. The ReSOMA Twitter account promotes individual experts as well as their activities and content.

Partners

Since 2018 the ReSOMA has been developed in partnership with IMISCOE by a consortium of leading research partners (ISMU, MPG, EUR, CEPS) and EU stakeholder platforms such as:

• EUROCITIES, the network of major European cities
• The Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM), the European network working to ensure social justice and human rights for undocumented migrants
• The European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE), an alliance of 106 NGOs across 40 European countries
• Social Platform, Europe’s largest network of civil society organisations advocating for a social Europe
