Methodological refinements in the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) 2023 allow for a more precise estimate of the gender gap in headache, as well as a better understanding of the contribution of medication overuse headache to headache-attributed health loss and how headache burden changes with age. But GBD researchers are also alerting the field to a troubling trend that they don’t want to see continue.
