What Video Game Did I Play Yesterday?

April 30th, 2026

An event based on the first Dragon Quest is running in Dragon Quest Smash/Grow right now, so I went through some of the goofiness of that last night. There's items and NPCs to click on, and it has nice, cozy, Dragon Quest-y vibes. I wanted to spend more time with it than I did, since I've got plenty of stamina refills, but I lost internet!

From there, I went through the Nintendo Online apps, since I'd checked in recently enough for them to work offline, and ended up trying Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. I did not play this at all when it was new, and I was kind of delighted by how strange and lower budget it feels. I hadn't been intending to run through this right now, but I might! I want to see what happens to these strange bug eyed people and their sparse little habitats. It's nice.

Last night I was really sleepy, so I autoran some stages in Dragon Quest: Smash/Grow while doing chores, then played a couple rounds of Vampire Survivors before bed. I did knock out a couple of achievements, but wanted to sleep more than I wanted to keep playing. It was a good choice.

Tonight, I broke my no-game-shopping-chain to buy the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy because I'm way too focused on Roadside Picnic and I gotta got get absolutely destroyed by a video game version of the Zone.. I cleared 34 games before I got here, though, which isn't bad! I'll pick up two more and then set a goal to clear 30 more before I hit the eShops again. 30 is more realistic than 100.

I am also taking a few days away from tennis games because I am very sleepy. I worked on levelling some character armor in Dragon Quest Smash/Grow and put one of my party members in a lovely t-shirt and shorts. That cost a lot of gold, though, so I need to restock materials.

I had a pretty good night in Vampire Survivors, too, clearing quite a few achievements! I don't think I'll do so well again for a bit, which was nice.

April 27th, 2026

Yesterday, I was sure to play a tennis game and, sensibly, went with Summer Sports: Tennis Hero, a browser game on the Canadian Broadcasting Company's website. It wasn't a bad time- it was more timing based than anything, which is fine for a game meant to play on a phone's browser. It had stat leveling, and the whole thing was engaging enough to max out my character before leaving the game.

I kept up with Dragon Quest: Smash/Grow, too, meeting the game's merch friendly NPCs and running into the first difficulty spike. It seems pretty easy to get over, so I'm not really frustrated by this.

I've also gotten locked back into Vampire Survivors, and cleared the "Reach minute 31 in Gallo Tower" achievement that had been causing me trouble. For some reason, though, I took a screenshot where I was just wandering around Bat Country. It's fine, I was sleepy.

The other game I played was a platformer with some exploring called Icey. I got it in a bundle at some point, but it's pretty funny! I spent an hour on it without realizing it, so I might not come back to this until next weekend.

April 26th, 2026

I forgot about tennis games yesterday, and was a little frustrated with myself over it today. I got to voice chat one of my far-away friends, and I started reading Roadside Picnic, which is a major page turner, and video game tennis just flitted out of my head.

In fact, I didn't play anything very seriously. I did a lot of material and EXP grinding in Dragon Quest Smash/Grow, which was pretty enjoyable.

I did play a pretty massive amount of The Roofcats: Suika Style, but I wasn't really paying attention to it. Simple puzzle games can be nice as a background activity.

Right before bed, I chased some of the Balatro-themed achievements in Vampire Survivors, too. Even though this was a free update, some of the weapons are really satisfying.

April 25th, 2026

I played too many games yesterday, so I will try to be brief about them!

For tennis time, I went for tennis adjacency with a few minutes of Project Justice, played as Momo the tennis prodigy. It's good to take a break from standard tennis and just smack people around with a tennis racket sometimes, even if it is a non-traditional use of the equipment. It seems to serve Momo well, though. She was one of my favorites back when I'd play this on Dreamcast.

Having finally reached the weekend, I tried Vampire Survivors: The Turbo Wildcard last night, which is off to a fun start! It's cool that this swerved to being a dungeon crawl rather than just doing the same thing again, but I'm not sure how I feel about the characters having voice acting now...

I played some normal Vampire Survivors, too! Chaos is fun.

I played quite a few stages in Dragon Quest: Smash/Grow, too, seeing some of the more traditional rougelite content and pushing through the story mode. This is still fun, especially for a mobile game!

Finally, I got close to the end of A Game About Digging A Hole and find the final challenge so unappealing that I might drop this game and never come back. The digging part was great and relaxing, so I think I'm ok with leaving this as is.

April 24th, 2026

I am late posting because work melted my brain and I have been eating spaghetti and playing video games all night. It's good livin'.

I did play more of Activision's 2600 Tennis yesterday, since it had some rally challenges to clear. I got the bronze medal and halfheartedly moved towards silver before stopping after ten or so minutes.

I kept playing A Game About Digging A Hole, too, which was fine and a bit mysterious. I was somewhat indifferent towards it yesterday.

Even though I don't usually talk about mobile games here, I started Dragon Quest: Smash and Grow. It was way better than I expected! The ads made it look like a Vampire Survivors knockoff, but instead, it's in the center of a triangle with three points- Dragon Quest, of course, Vampire Survivors, and Pokemon Rumble. It's lovely so far, and I'm looking forward to grinding away at it for weeks before getting bored and suddenly quitting.

Right before going to sleep, for a full night, no less, I also played some Pocket Quest. This is still a standard match-3 game with RPG trappings, but right now it is also a placebo to help me get to sleep. I needed a game to fill that role and am okay with this being it.

April 23rd, 2026

I have only slept about 4 hours any given night this week, not deliberately, and this is the perfect circumstance under which to watch Ghost Ship.

Since the price went down yesterday, I got GamePass back and messed with that a bit last night. I played Activision Tennis for the Atari 2600 in their retro games launcher last night. The computer opponent in this game is extremely nasty, but rallying is fun enough that it's fine. I'll probably play this a bit more later, but it's one of the tennis games I've been less enthused about this month. RealSports Tennis might have spoiled it for me.

I tried A Game About Digging A Hole, too, and probably will finish this within the next couple of days. I got so claustrophobic and almost panicked when I dug far enough down, which was weird since games don't usually scare me! This certainly isn't a scary game, either. It's fun to find stuff in this, though, and I like the clicker-ish shovel upgrades. This is interesting.

April 22nd, 2026

I'm in a bad loop of being unable to sleep for long right now, so yesterday was light on games. I played tennis in Nintendo Switch Sports exactly as long as I needed to in order to play the new-character-parts gatcha. Emotes and titles are also thrown in there, so, disappointingly, I won no new character parts.

I also had a few minutes of PC Engine time with Aero Blasters. This was a big disappointment because I'd been hoping for Sonic Wings, but remembered too late that was called Aero Fighters in the US. I also don't like some of the speedy don't-touch-the-walls stuff this game threw at me in level 2, but I think I'll be able to overcome that eventually.

April 21st, 2026

I had a weird games day yesterday. I did keep up with tennis on Nintendo Switch Sports, since I could keep playing tennis while also unlocking clothes. I won two games and got demolished in a third, all of which was fun! It's good to be playing an exercise-adjacent game, too.

I also got it in my head that I was going to clear every PC-Engine/Turbografx-16 game yesterday. Of course I'm not going to do that, but Google's AI said it would take 5k-8k hours yesterday and I want to prove it wrong. Today, the AI said it would take 1k-2k hours, so it would be best to land at 4k and really stomp both estimates. Anyway, yesterday I played Hatris for 20 minutes and forgot to get a screenshot. I will talk more about Hatris later.

I also played the GBA version of SSX Tricky, as I was filled with misplaced nostalgia. The controls are really bad in this, but I played it enough in the old days to not hate it. One of my high school friends gave it to me for my birthday, and I sneak played it when I was supposed to be asleep. It's a nice memory that makes a very janky game more than a bit more tolerable. Anyway, I'd like to finally finish this, but I probably won't.

April 20th, 2026

I started in on tennis in Nintendo Switch Sports last night, but didn't have the confidence to go online yet. I did hop online for some bowling afterwards, but this isn't bowling month.

Earlier in the day, though, I was really zoned out. I finished off all of the achievements in Buddy and Lucky Solitaire, which was kind of tedious. Draw 3 isn't awful, but spending a whole afternoon playing it got a little frustrating. I forgot to take a screenshot, too, which is even worse! This is a poor excuse for a game cleared post. There was some hidden object stuff thrown in, too, which was fine. The game overall was fine, too. It was interesting to have a little solitaire game with achievements to work through, and I wouldn't mind playing something like this again.

I wanted to spend more time finding stuff, so I ran through Hidden Things: Beach Elves, too. It had a little more variety than the typical "find 100 of a thing" game, but it drove me crazy that it was an endless looping screen rather than an image with defined edges.

April 19th, 2026

Yesterday was a super-casual gaming day, as I was mostly doing other stuff with family. I started the Game Boy version of Mario Tennis, which was not a great idea with split attention. I did get to the tennis, which is really fun, but I'll probably start over again later. I couldn't remember a single thing an NPC told me when it came time for actual gameplay, and I quit halfway through my first match to eat dinner.

Later, I played some Super Mario Bros. in Mario All-Stars while making a lot of dumb speedrunning jokes because I've been watching too many Summoning Salt videos lately. Both being a noisy dork and the game were fun, and I'll probably go back and try to finish the game. After taking an hour to get to World 4, though, it's gonna be a nightmare to make up the time I'll need for the world record.

April 18th, 2026

Yesterday was kind of a bust as far as gaming went, but I gave it a valiant try. I tried Bee Ball, a very cute homebrew bee tennis game for Atari 2600, only to have my cartridge glitch out like crazy. I think updating the firmware on my 7800+ will fix this, but I was still a little frustrated.

From there, I played a few stages in Mega Man X Dive Offline, but was so sleepy I forgot to get a screenshot. I was killin' it yesterday.

April 17th, 2026

Today the weather was a bit stressful, but at least in my area, all the storms the forecasters were worried about were duds. I still ended up hiding in my bathroom, typing away on my work laptop while sirens went off, but I'm glad things mostly came out okay.

Yesterday, I ran a clicker called Idle Tennis Career, which was an extremely basic idle game. I had to use the 6 year old Galaxy Tab A that I usually serves as my planner to run it, as my current tablet wasn't able, and all you do is click the tennis ball and level up. The amount of clicks required to level up doesn't change, so it felt a little flat. I reached the status of "Idle Tennis God" in decent time, though, and quit. I will likely never play this again, but it was interesting to go so far back into clicker history.

I spent about an hour in Mega Man X Dive Offline, too, and am really enjoying it. It's pretty dumbed down for a Mega Man game, difficulty-wise, but I am delighted by having a super-long platformer with level grinding to throw a bunch of time into. Plus, I think this is a decent way to translate a mobile game into a standard release. The gacha-ing in Metal Slug Attack Reloaded drives me crazy, so it seems like a nice solution to just hand you character shards for finishing levels. I'm unlocking things at a good clip, so it doesn't feel like I'm missing on anything. There's a menu of events you can turn on and off, which is cool, too. I might try one of them the next time I play, just to see how in-depth they are.

April 16th, 2026

This is not great for posting, but last night I felt really exhausted and didn't play any games. I couldn't get to sleep until 4:00 am or so, and I don't think gaming or not would have moved that needle one way or the other. Sometimes, sleeping is super difficult despite being very tired.

April 15th, 2026

Yesterday was a fun day for a rabbit hole. A-Blue-In-A-Sea-Of-Reds brought up Snoopy Tennis for Game Boy Color in my comments, and of course I was interested in that! I don't know why there is a tennis game based on Peanuts, as it has a uniquely downbeat charm, but I really wanted to see the sprite art so I looked it up. Upon doing that, I found out there was an older Game & Watch game called Snoopy Tennis, which was being emulated over on the super cool RetroFab project, which uses emulation to preserve and share LCD games.

I intended to play at least some version of Snoopy Tennis yesterday, but I scrolled through RetroFab, saw Hello Kitty: Tennis School, and played that instead. I had a pretty nice time. It's simple, with only 3 spots Hello Kitty can return serves from, but sometimes a little jerk mole switches the ball's direction and you have to deal with that nonsense. The speed picks up nicely as it goes, and it's way less clunky than I expected from the Tiger Electronics handhelds of my past. As a Hello Kitty game, I wholeheartedly approve of this. The LCD Hello Kitty is really cute, with her old school standard outfit, and I like that some of her side characters get used! It's rude that they laugh at Hello Kitty when she misses a return, but I guess her life was hard in the 80s. I'm glad I took a roundabout path and found this!

I also played a cute, but very brief tennis themed visual novel on itch.io called Love-All. I think I got all three endings in around 5 minutes, but it was a browser game so I didn't feel put out by that. Plus, it was fun to get a different take on tennis.

I'm running out of time to finish this post before midnight, but I played Mega Man X Dive Offline for a little bit, too! I've been looking forward to playing this more all day, so I'll write more about it tomorrow! For today, I simply wasted too much time reading manga on my phone.

April 14th, 2026

My main chunk of gaming last night was playing Kirby's Dream Course with one of my work friends and feeling totally baffled by it. I think getting used to the controls might help, as I definitely bounced off this less than I did as a grade schooler! There's hope for me to excel in this game yet.

I kept up with Tennis for Switch, too, playing rally challenges and trying to get up to 100 points. I'm a little frustrated that this game has you play the rally challenge against an AI that can derail your score by failing, but I still think my arbitrary goal is doable.

Before bed, I was having major trouble sleeping, so I tried Woodturning 3D on Switch. It's actually a pretty decent before bed game. It's basic, already repetitive, and has annoying DLC gates for cosmetics, but actually doing the woodturning has a nice tactile feel that I was kind of impressed by.

April 13th, 2026

I would not say yesterday was a day where I had any interest in being awake, but I did play some virtual tennis. I tried 3D Tennis for the MSX and totally whiffed almost every shot. I would like to try it again, though. This seems like it could get easier when I figure out what part of my player sprite connects with the tennis ball.

I very half-heartedly played a bit of RealSports Tennis, too, because my portable 2600 machine was on my craft table and it seemed marginally better than accomplishing any crafts. It wasn't, at least not then, and I took a nap.

April 12th, 2026

I didn't get what I wanted to accomplish done this weekend, but that is pretty okay. I got a big sense of accomplishment from beating the training character in World of Tennis: Roaring 20s last night, though! I am not sure I like this game, but I am slightly fixated on it.

I was really jittery before bed, so I played Find All 3: Travel until I fell asleep, too. I do not remember how far I got in the normal mode stages, but I am grateful to this game for helping me relax.

April 11th, 2026

Today, I stopped procrastinating and did my taxes. Ever since I was a child and learned the vague idea of audits from an episode of Seinfeld, I have been very worried about doing my taxes properly, so this felt like a decent accomplishment. It's the normal way to feel!

In another super normal move, I played through Bubsy II for Game Boy last night. It was not fun and felt screamingly unfair, even with infinite lives and time turned on. Within my two hours playing I found two game breaking bugs- one being a checkpoint that re-spawned Bubsy underneath a platform, creating an infinite death loop, and the other being Bubsy just disappearing into the sky, never to return, after a death. I'm usually pretty happy just to be hanging out and playing a game, but the nicest thing I can say about this is that a couple of the animations are fine. Playing through this was a weird use of my XBox, even for me.

I also got a game breaking bug in the pleasant, but generic Tennis for Switch. The ball got stuck in the net and started vibrating, and then my opponent began vibrating, and it made a weird buzzing noise. Today, I hope to play more competent games.

April 10th, 2026

Part of my goal this weekend is to get this blog back to where I want it to be, in terms of getting posts off onto game pages, but tonight, I'm doing some very suboptimal gaming and weaving potholders. It's really nice!

Last night, I found myself drawn back to World of Tennis: Roaring 20s, where I played and almost won my first online match! This game is really odd in that I think you play against bot versions of other players rather than the players themselves, but next to the weird control scheme, that's practically normal. I hope my online bot puts up a better fight than I do.

I kept trying the three-draw games in Buddy and Lucky Solitaire, too, winning one round for the night. I didn't feel too bad about that.

April 9th, 2026

I'm really unambitious tonight, but still getting my post done! For tennis last night, I tried and loved RealSports Tennis for the Atari 2600. It's a 2600 game, so it is one of the more basic things I've played this month. It's pretty impressive for a 2600 game, though, with replays of finished matches on the demo screen and name entry options for each player. Technically impressive bits aside, what I thought made this fun was that it's really fast and straightforward to get some excellent rallies going. The CPU opponent isn't a genius, but it's smart enough about getting right up to the net and backing back up to keep things interesting, and this runs at a good speed, too. It's simple, but I got really into my match. I'm going to try the harder difficulty soon.

Other than that, I was playing casual cozy games yesterday. I started Memories With My Kitten, which seems like it'll be a nice puzzle game to chip away at a little at a time.

I also buzzed through Hidden Superhero Cats, which was very cute, but a bit too easy.

I lost some rounds of 3-draw solitaire really badly in Buddy and Lucky Solitaire, too.

April 8th, 2026

I was playing games in an extremely scattered fashion last night. I did keep up with tennis, playing a match in Tennis on Switch. It was nice to play something with more normal controls than World of Tennis, even if I was just scumming for in-game achievements.

I wanted some Switch Onine icons, too, so I played a really terrible round of Kirby's Dream Land. I got it in my head that it might be fun to try to one credit clear this game, since it does have continues. I really do like this game, so I might try it.

I finished easy mode in Find All 3: Travel, too. Normal and hard mode are another three stages each, so I take back my complaints about Find All 2's mini-games being missing. It's nice to have one of these lineart hidden object games with so many levels, and good ones at that!

April 7th, 2026

I went to see a Twice concert last night, which'll probably end up being my K-pop show for the year. Two of the members were out with injuries, but it was still a really fun night! I briefly thought I hallucinated that Twice had nine members rather than seven, as the girls who remained did not acknowledge their fallen comrades, and that was a bizarre feeling. Even the worst seats in the United Center had a cool, birds-eye sort of view, though, and it's fascinating to sit back at a distance, thinking about all the work that must go into the clockwork choreography. Pop music makes me happy, and it's so fun to see it in a massive crowd. The vibes are so lovely!

Because of that, I did my gaming while dead tired last night. I did get a point in World of Tennis: Roaring 20s, though, which was an improvement!

I also played a good, solid three or four minutes of Find All 3: Travel, too, but didn't take any screenshots because I was as good as asleep. It was a fair tradeoff to sleep well.

April 6th, 2026

Last night I played games while chatting with a friend, which was a disaster for World of Tennis: Roaring 20s. I will say, seeing a daily login bonus let me know what was up with this game pretty quickly. However, I do not believe I am actually ready for multiplayer after losing to the AI with 0 points to whatever-is-required-to-win-a-tiebreaker. Hopefully today, I will remember how to serve.

I kept up my quest to clear my backlog, too. I played through 100 Crime Cats, which was disappointingly on the easier end of hidden cat games. Also, I expected more crime than I got. 100 Insider Trading Cats sounds high concept, I know, but there's so many places you could hide cats in an office! These cats were just, like, outside while light crime was happening. I don't even really believe they were accomplices.

Anyway, I forgot to get a screenshot, but it looked like every other hidden cat game.

I worked on the higher grade Find All 3: Travel, too. I'm kind of disappointed that the mini game stuff from Find All 2 is gone here, but it's still fun with some nice stage change gimmicks. I'll probably play this a bit more today.

April 5th, 2026

I wanted to, but did not back out of my trip this weekend, so now I am in a hotel room with actual wifi, posting from a nice little desk while sipping decaf coffee. I paid for a bit more than a bottom tier hotel this time, and it's been very worth it so far! I'd been crashing places so cheap that I was amazed by how little scum is visible in the bathroom here, and pleasantly surprised when the staff cheerfully told me the wifi password. I'm trying to frame this not as "My trip to Disney spoiled me," but as "It's ok to expect at least a minimum standard of quality from my trips!"

That being said, it's time to blog about a tennis game I found trawling Steam for freebies! Last night I tried World of Tennis: Roaring 20s, and I have no idea what to make of it. The 1920s theme aside, as that just seems to be an excuse for an interesting public domain soundtrack and the use of Jay Gatsby's yacht as a stage, it has really odd controls and, by default, runs every game as a tie-breaker. I'm more confused than frustrated by it, though, and do think I'll play again tonight. It's interesting to be baffled by a game.

My best gaming time yesterday was spent with Pretty Sweet! Healing Guardian, a light and breezy magical girl themed cozy game. It was kind of a clicker, let me buy clothes, and had some light resource management. I finished it in two sittings, but that's just because my battery died halfway through my play sessions. It's a short, simple game, but I spent about 2 hours completely locked in on it.

I tried Hyper Echelon, which I'd gotten free from Epic, too, and it seems to be an ok Euro shmup so far! It just did not get a hold on my imagination like the other two games did. I'm interested to see how it balances shmup difficulty with level grinding, so it will likely just get its due on here later.

April 4th, 2026

My brain is really bad tonight, so my post is late because I've been procrastinating packing for a fun, normal trip that has filled me with existential dread. It'll be ok, and I will have a nice time, but I really don't want to go anywhere right now!

My tennis game for last night was Tennis for the NES, which really didn't click with me. The default match length is way longer than I expected, and serving is a pain in the butt, too. I probably will try it again, since I was tired and in a poor mood.

Other than that, I had it in my head that it was time to clear some of the casual games I had downloaded to my Legion Go. I started with Hidden Cats: Easter, since Easter is close enough that I had an excuse to finish this series off. This wasn't the best or worst of these I've played, so I feel like I finished this off on a totally neutral note.

I played 100 Forest Cats, too, which was also fine. It wasn't a great game, but I felt more relaxed after playing it, which was nice!

Lastly, I threw some time into finishing off Milky Way Jigsaw Puzzles. I have a bundle with tons of these perfectly adequate jigsaw puzzle games, but I find them really soothing and enjoyable. This one had me contemplating how space is way more sparkly than people generally give it credit for, which was nice! This game served its purpose for me.

April 3rd, 2026

Today is better than yesterday, which is kind of a low bar. I still have sinus issues and have to go hide from a storm, but nothing actively bad is going on!

Last night, my eyes were already burning so I decided to play Mario's Tennis for Virtual Boy. I was still surprised by the 3D effect being so much better than I remembered it being on real hardware, especially since this was a game I actually had. I was doing a terrible job last night, though, and won no games, let alone matches.

I played a combined clicker/incremental game and RPG on Galaxy.click last night, too, called nahidaQuest!. It's a Genshin Impact fan game, which I don't know so much about. The clicking bits and the JRPG style battles feel a little disconnected to me, too. This is fine, though. I'm just playing it to try to relax and procrastinate, not get a fancy AAA gaming experience.

April 2nd, 2026

Today is my birthday, and between some work trouble, an awful cold, and some bad weather, it has been a doozy. I'm getting my post in just under the wire, though!

I played the creatively titled Tennis on Switch some more, which was fine and nothing more. It's kind of relaxing, and when I went up to medium difficulty, I got some really good rallies going. The character voice clips were driving me crazy, though!

I also played a little of Mario Tennis for N64, which I already knew was excellent! I actually might hold this back a little so it doesn't spoil me on finishing all the tournaments in the less sparkling Tennis.

April 1st, 2026

For April, I'm going to play a bunch of the tennis games I've gathered over the years, because it seems fun. Last night I kicked this off with a budget Switch game called Tennis. It's not the best tennis game I've ever played, but it's completely fine. It's functional and I can be a weird little blue haired kid that reminds me of Max from Macross. I'm kind of looking forward to playing it more tonight!

March 31st, 2026

I'm hoping this is my last flat out bad post for a while, but it is also a small preview of what's to come for April. I played a bit of Super Tennis last night and am just as bad at it now as I was when I was six years old. The music when you change courts is neat, though, and I love how mode 7 heavy it is! It's a neat game.

March 30th, 2026

Yesterday I found Galaxy.click, a website full of browser based incremental games, and hit their random game button for hours of zoning out. I played one called The Doors Tree, which is a very stripped down, abstract clicker. It was perfect for yesterday. I was tired, my allergies were killing me, and I just wanted to click on stuff. I was content.

March 29th, 2026

I am hoping I can get back on top of things soon, but I'm doing a lazy post again tonight. The Switch 2's boost mode has me going back to games I haven't tried in years, so last night, I re-tried SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. This runs better now, but I still don't love it. Needing to finish every match with the same type of move isn't a very fun mechanic, even though it is flashy. I won't totally give up on this, but it's not up there with the best SNK fighters for me at all.

I also played about five minutes of Monster Survivors, but got too sleepy too fast to get very far. I just ended up shutting it off mid-run.

March 28th, 2026

Last night, in the hopes of doing a bit that kind of fell flat, I was playing budget priced bowling games on Switch. It was a blast, though! I played the less flashy option, Knock 'Em Down! Bowling first. I hadn't really spent much time on this yet, and it was driving me crazy that even throws that looked perfect were ending in 7-10 splits! It'll be interesting to figure out how to counter that, if there is a way to do it.

Crazy Strike Bowling EX, on the other hand, had me tossing out strikes almost immediately, living up to its title. I really enjoyed this, though! I'd only played it for a few minutes a few years ago, since it felt kind of off, but the Switch 2's boost mode really made it feel smoother. It kind of reminds me of a golf MMO I used to play, Pangya, but with bowling instead. Plus, it has a weird little mascot that does bowling alley style animations if you get a good frame! It's a cute charm point.

In the middle of next week, I should be moving to an easier position at work. I have to trade quarterly bonuses for this break, but it'll be very worth it. I'm still really tired today, but hopefully, things'll get better.

Last night, I played Buddy and Lucky Solitaire for such a brief amount of time that I didn't even get a screenshot. It was a crazy day, so I'm not even mad at myself.

I played Q-UP for a few minutes before bed last night. It had been so long since my last play session that I kind of forgot how it worked, but I had an okay time.

I tried a solitaire variant called Old Tommy in Free Solitaire last night. It was frustrating and inflexible, but kind of fun, too. I forgot to get a screenshot, though. Lately, I am not kicking butt.

Tonight is a quick post because I came home and dozed off after checking my mail. Yesterday, I tried to get things in order by running Spirit City: Lofi Sessions. I picked up the garden and train DLC, and they both seem nice so far!

I also kept playing Free Solitaire, and experienced Spider Solitaire. I don't like this as much as Klondike or Tri-Peaks, at least not with one suit. I'll see how it is when the game gets more complicated.

I downloaded a free solitaire game on itch.io last night, called, somewhat mysteriously, Free Solitaire. I'm really happy with it so far. It has 140 variations of solitaire in it, and I want to spend many sessions dozing off as I try to win a game of each. There's a lot of card options, too! It took me too long to learn the wonders of solitaire, but I am having a lovely time.

Yesterday, I just played Pokemon Go. I was on a day trip back to my hometown for a celebration of life, so I caught all the Pokestops I could on the road and around town. I wasn't thinking about screenshots, though, so this is a bit of a dud post.

Last night, I finished off Hidden Cats: The Last of Cats, which was a fun Steam cat-finder with some actual challenge. I might start another Find All game soon. These developers tend to do decent stuff.

I also had a screenshot of Luck Be A Landlord from last night, but I can't remember playing it for anything. I, perhaps, need some extra sleep.

I played a few incremental games on itch.io yesterday, but I'm too wiped out for a longer post. It might not be Sunday until I get to them, but some of them were so cute that I'm excited to share them!

My big gaming accomplishment yesterday, though, was getting a one credit clear in Deathsmiles II!

I was really proud of this, but thinking about it today, it wasn't much of an accomplishment. I played every stage on the lowest rank in Deathsmiles II X Mode, so I could have an easier time of it and use Rosa, my favorite character from the first game. Plus, it's an easier shmup to start, along with so many more petty things I thought rather than just being happy. I hate how mean I am to myself!

All that being said, I did have a good time playing last night, and I'm excited to keep at this game! This may not be such an impressive 1CC, but I have many more to come!

I was really wiped out last night, so I skipped RPG time and only played cat finding games. I went through 100 Fantasy Cats, which shockingly had 200 cats to find. It was completely fine, but nothing super impressive.

I was glad to discover that Hidden Cats: The Last of Cats was saving my progress, too. I fell asleep playing this, so I'll only have 11 cats left to find in my next play session.

I think I'm getting a little burned out, but that happens all the time. The weekend is getting closer every minute!

I finished Dig Deep yesterday, which I checked on every half hour or so. It was bright, cheery, and reasonably satisfying to complete. It also helped me stay focused on more important things just by being there to glance at, so I can't complain. This was 20 cents reasonably spent.

I also started Cat of Monte Cristo, an RPG Maker game that is The Count of Monte Cristo if Edmund Dantes was a cat boy. It needs proofreading, but I think it's charming how much it feels like playing someone's inside joke with their friends. The battle system is ok, too. I started this because I was too lazy to go get my Switch out of the other room, but I'm glad I did.

My last game of the day was Hidden Cats: The Last of Cats. I got pretty far in the bonus stage, but I suspect this doesn't save, so I might have to do it all again.

Today was exhausting, so I am making a very simple post that'll give me more work tomorrow. It'll balance out just fine.

My co-worker and I finished A Way Out last night, which was a blast. The last couple hours were wild, and pretty surprising, too. I was really impressed by a chase sequence that bounced back and forth between both players, though. It was well edited and choreographed, and had me so caught up in the gameplay and story that it wasn't until later I reflected on how hard it must be to make gameplay like that feel natural and fun. Playing an entire story-heavy game in co-op seemed like it could be gimmicky, but it didn't end up going that way at all.

I needed a new idle game to play to numb some stress, so I started Dig Deep, one of my many 20 cent Switch games. It's kind of like an interactive screensaver where you tell people to dig holes, but that was kind of what I needed yesterday.

For my RPG time, I spent some time with Shijou Saikyou Miyamoto Julia, but didn't get very far. I got bogged down by some cutscenes because my Japanese is exceedingly poor. Playing through one mission isn't nothing, though, and I'll get better with kanji the more I read!

I went back to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon last night, but ended up feeling like I needed to level up before seriously tackling the next dungeon. I went around and did some job board missions, seeing if I could get new allies, and might do the same tonight. It would be nice to have more party members!
