The MIDAS Trainee Network is a subnetwork among students and post-docs in the MIDAS Network. We hold regular meetings to establish professional relationships across the network, foster future collaborations, share educational resources, and provide a relaxed environment to share research progress and ideas to one another. To access previous meetings of the MIDAS Trainee Network, please visit the MIDAS YouTube page.
Please join the MIDAS Network (free!) and select that you are a Trainee if you are interested in receiving network updates and participating in future events.

Navigating Peer Review: Perspectives from Both Sides of the Process
The MIDAS Trainee Committee invites you to our next workshop in the Research Storytelling series. Join us for an inside look at the peer review process—from crafting a constructive reviewer report to writing a compelling response-to-reviewers letter. Our speaker, Dr. C. Robert Horsburgh, is a professor at Boston University School of Public Health with 30 years of experience in epidemiology and infectious disease research, including tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, and global health. Drawing on his extensive experience as both an author and reviewer, Dr. Horsburgh will guide us through best practices for navigating peer review at every stage. The whole event will be a 20-minute talk from Dr. Horsburgh on the general peer process, followed by discussion and Q&A with the audience.
📅 Date: March 18, 2026
