Microchip TCPIP Stack is an embedded networking library from Microchip Technology Incorporated that adds Internet connectivity to PIC microcontrollers. Delivered as portable C source code, it implements core IPv4 protocols (ARP, IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP) and a broad set of services including DHCP, AutoIP, DNS, NBNS, SNMP, SMTP, Telnet, TFTP, SNTP, and an HTTP server, with optional TLS/SSL support through partner libraries. The stack supports Ethernet via integrated MAC/PHY devices and external controllers such as the ENC28J60 and ENC624J600, as well as selected Wi‑Fi modules. It includes drivers, ready-to-run example projects, and board support for Microchip development kits, and it integrates with MPLAB X IDE and XC8/XC16/XC32 compilers. Designed for 8-, 16-, and 32-bit PIC devices, it is highly configurable to fit tight code and RAM budgets, making it well suited for web-enabled control, data logging, and remote monitoring applications. For new 32‑bit designs, Microchip recommends the MPLAB Harmony TCP/IP Stack, which supersedes the legacy stack and receives ongoing updates.
