Roy Cooper was the most soft on crime governor in the history of North Carolina putting criminals ahead of law-abiding North Carolinians.
As Governor, Roy Cooper forced cashless bail and expansive pretrial release into North Carolina’s criminal justice system, creating a revolving door that allowed repeat offenders to walk free without fear of jail time.
Instead of standing with victims, families, and law enforcement, he championed policies that weakened consequences and emboldened criminals.
In 2021, Cooper released 3,500 inmates from prison — including Decarlos Brown, a repeat violent offender who later murdered Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska aboard the Charlotte Light Rail in August 2025. That horrific tragedy was not an isolated incident; it was the predictable result of reckless decisions that prioritized criminals over victims.
Not only did Cooper support the radical Antifa riots in 2020, Cooper also called to “reimagine law enforcement.”
At a time when Cooper should have been backing the blue and putting more cops on the streets, he vilified law enforcement and signaled weakness to those who prey on our communities. Criminals thrived under his watch while families paid the price.
As your next U.S. Senator, I will stand shoulder to shoulder with President Trump to restore law and order, roll back dangerous and lenient Democrat policies, back the blue without apology, and put law-abiding North Carolinians first. It’s time to make North Carolina safe again.
I believe the foremost priority of government is to protect its citizens. My opponent, Roy Cooper, objectively failed at that responsibility. As Governor of North Carolina, Cooper vetoed legislation that would have required local sheriffs to cooperate with ICE and turn over criminal illegal aliens for deportation. Under Cooper’s leadership, illegal aliens committed multiple crimes without being deported.
Roy Cooper was Joe Biden’s number one ally when Biden allowed millions of criminal illegal aliens to enter our country and receive taxpayer handouts, traffic drugs into our communities, and commit crimes repeatedly without being removed.
In contrast, I am 100% supportive of President Trump securing the border and deporting the millions of criminal illegal aliens that Joe Biden and Roy Cooper allowed into this country.
America’s economic strength depends on reliable, affordable energy and reining in Washington’s reckless spending.
By practicing fiscal responsibility and unleashing American energy, we can empower American workers, create good-paying jobs, achieve energy independence, and build lasting prosperity for every American.
I have a proven record of standing up for conservative values. As Chairman of the North Carolina GOP, I led the charge to grow voter registration, protect the ballot, and get out the vote for Republicans across the state. I carried on that same fight for election integrity and Republican victories in my role as Chairman of the Republican National Committee.
From defending Second Amendment rights, to protecting life, supporting our law enforcement, and keeping radical woke ideology out of schools, I will fight night and day against the Left’s agenda.
I was tapped by President Trump to serve on the FEMA Review Council to guarantee that disaster responses are dramatically improved from the failures seen under the Biden’s FEMA and Governor Roy Cooper’s handling of Hurricane Helene.
So far, I have worked with the Trump administration to deliver more aid for Hurricane Helene recovery than any other recovery project in the history of North Carolina.
