Mohammad Golbabaee

MG

Welcome to my page! I am a faculty member at School of Engineering Mathematics and the Visual Information Lab at University of Bristol.

My research focus is on algorithms and computational models for solving inverse problems, large-scale optimisation and machine learning with applications to biomedical imaging technologies, signals and sensors, and computer vision.

NEWS: EPSRC-funded project “Deep learning compressive quantitative MRI” in partnership with GE Healthcare, UCL’s Centre for Medical imaging and University of Zurich Prof Bjoern Menze.

For enquiries regarding open PhD positions please email me at m.golbabaee@bristol.ac.uk

Research topics could include (not limited to):

  • Computational sensing, imaging, and signal processing
  • Machine learning (deep/multi-modal/physics-informed/self-supervised/explainable)
  • Optimisation algorithms for large-scale inverse problems

Short bio: Before my current position, I worked in the following international groups:

In 2014, I was awarded a Swiss National Science Foundation Fellowship to visit Rice University (Prof Richard Baraniuk), and in 2017 I held an early career award from the Scottish Research Partnership in Engineering (SRPe) for collaborations with GE Healthcare and Technical University of Munich on the project “Accelerating quantitative Magnetic Resonance Imaging acquisition and reconstruction”.
