Welcome to the Constellation Metagraph Hackathon, the inaugural hackathon for the Constellation Network ecosystem! With $100k in DAG prizes available, we invite you to showcase your creativity and innovation by developing groundbreaking metagraph projects and on-chain tooling. Leveraging the flexible Euclid SDK, the possibilities for what you can create are nearly limitless. Builders, it’s time to start building!
About Constellation Network
Constellation Network is a high-performance, layer-0 blockchain of blockchains.
With the Hypergraph as its layer-0, Constellation empowers projects to build their own metagraphs—application-specific blockchains that seamlessly communicate with the Hypergraph and operate as self-contained layer-1 networks with their own internal business logic.
Metagraphs distinguish themselves in the blockchain space through:
-
Their ability to process data at scale through a unique multilayered microservice architecture
-
Interoperating with any data type and any external data source
-
Complete control of the codebase - allowing developers to use existing code libraries and tooling in their projects
-
Developer-defined validation and consensus logic within the network
- Custom state management and privacy control functionality
An entirely new breed of blockchain projects are beginning to take shape as metagraphs through Constellation Network. Join us in redefining what’s possible with distributed ledger technology.
Resources and Support
Learning new technologies can be challenging, but we’re committed to supporting you every step of the way. The core team will provide extensive assistance to help you get up and running.
See the Resources tab for complete details.
Prizes
$100k USD equivalent DAG prizes are available across all categories for the most successful submissions. DAG prizes are provided in a collaboration between Constellation Network and Stardust Collective.
Additional benefits are made available to hackathon participants through our supporting hackathon partners.
Supporting Hackathon Partners
IBM
On behalf of Constellation’s partnership with IBM, all participants developing solutions in Constellation’s hackathon have access to IBM Cloud Infrastructure credits for their respective project. Through IBM’s Partner Plus program, approved companies will receive 18k cloud credits from IBM to use how they see fit including hosting nodes for Constellation Metagraphs.
For those interested in what IBM has to offer, information on their Cloud Infostructure and other partner details can be found here. To qualify, companies must sign up for IBM’s Partner Plus program which can be initiated here.
Panasonic
Constellation Network and Panasonic have partnered on some very exciting initiatives that will be revealed later this year. Through their partnership it was decided to bring Panasonic into the fold of the hackathon as a sponsor to gain visibility and monitor what Metagraphs are being developed.
Constellation and Panasonic will be examining those building solutions that are in-line with Panasonics products and services. If at any time participants feel their Metagraphs have an entry point into Panasonic, please reach out to our partnership coordinator (details below) to learn more about an engagement and to get connected.
SIMBA Chain
Through their strategic work together on the Iron SPIDR, Secure Information Sharing, federal program, Constellation has tapped SIMBA Chain as a hackathon sponsor. SIMBA Chain boasts arguably the most extensive Blockchain capabilities in the industry. With a focus on data and identity, SIMBA Chain offers an agnostic platform of enterprise ready Blockchain tools that extend and enhance Constellation’s Metagraphs.
To better understand their infrastructure and tools, participants can learn more at their documentation center here. While the company does not offer a self-service instance, those interested in getting access to their platform for development and testing can reach out to our partnership coordinator (details below) who will help you through the process to get access from the SIMBA Chain team.
National DigiFoundry
As an official sponsor of the Constellation hackathon, the National DigiFoundry (NDF) is spotlighting their role in promoting Metagraph development. Several workgroups within the NDF are currently building strategic blockchain networks and digital asset offerings using Constellation’s Metagraphs. The foundation has created alignment with some of the world’s top institutions including IBM, Microsoft, Forward Edge-AI, US Space Force, National Science Foundation, US Department of the Treasury and dozens more. By participating in the hackathon, the NDF is welcoming participants to become members and contribute their ideas to a one-of-a-kind Blockchain cross section of federal and industry.
For those interested in learning more about the NDF, please reach out to our partnership coordinator (details below).
C14
On behalf of Constellation’s partnership with C14, participants developing solutions in Constellation’s hackathon will have access to exclusive opportunities to integrate with C14's crypto on-ramp services. C14 is dedicated to supporting Constellation Network metagraph tokens and will be awarding a free listing on their platform for the top three Metagraph Dev teams: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place.
Take advantage of this incredible opportunity to enhance your hackathon project with C14's industry-leading crypto on-ramp solutions and gain exposure on a prominent platform in the crypto space.

Requirements
What to Build
Build a project that integrates Constellation Hypergraph and submit it to one of the two tracks:
-
Metagraph Projects: Utilize the Euclid SDK using Scala to create innovative metagraphs that push the boundaries of blockchain technology.
-
On-Chain Tooling: Develop tools that enhance interaction with and functionality of other network components in any programming language.
We encourage participants to stretch the limits of traditional blockchain infrastructure using the unique attributes of Constellation Network and the Euclid SDK. Check out our list of suggested projects for inspiration!
What to Submit
-
Provide a URL to your public code repository (Github, etc.) for judging and testing. Repo should include complete setup and running instructions to allow judges to build and test the project. Projects may optionally include Docker images to run the project.
-
Include a video (should be 5 minutes or less) that demonstrates your submission. Videos must be uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or Facebook Video and made public.
-
If deployed, please provide a URL to a functioning demo site.
-
Submit a complete description of your project, how it functions, and its potential impact on the Constellation ecosystem. Be as detailed as possible so that judges can fully understand your vision. Describe which portions are implemented and what features might be implemented in the future with more time.
-
If the project includes a token, provide an overview of the tokenomics. Explain the utility of the token and describe its initial and future distribution strategy.
