Eligibility for the Hackathon
Participants
The Hackathon is open to individuals and teams who meet the following eligibility criteria:

Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

Participants may be residents of Africa or any other region.

Participants must have access to the internet and necessary equipment to participate in the virtual Hackathon.
Team Formation
-
Participants can form teams before the hackathon or be assigned to teams during the event based on their skills and interests (Max of 1 - 5 participants).

Each team member must meet the eligibility criteria.

Participants can decide to hack solo and must meet the eligibility criteria
Prizes:
Prizes Hackathon - Prize Pool 1000$

First Place: 500 $

Second Place: 300 $
-
Third Place: 100 $
- Pool Prize for 5 projects each getting $20

Treat all participants with respect, kindness, and empathy. Harassment, discrimination, or any form of disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

Create an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or any other identity.

Encourage and amplify underrepresented voices. Foster an environment where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and thrive.

Foster a spirit of collaboration and teamwork. Hackathons are about working together to solve problems and create innovative solutions.

Respect intellectual property rights. Give credit where it's due and obtain permission before using or sharing others' work.
Professionalism

Maintain professionalism in all interactions. This includes communication within the hackathon platform, social media, and any other channels related to the event.

Avoid disruptive behavior that may hinder the progress of others or detract from the overall experience.
Safety

Prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants. Report any concerns or incidents to the event organizers promptly.

Be mindful of online security and privacy. Protect your personal information and use secure communication channels.
Compliance

Abide by the rules and guidelines set forth by the event organizers. Non-compliance may result in disqualification or removal from the event.

Familiarize yourself with the terms of service and community guidelines of any platforms or tools used during the hackathon.
Feedback

Provide constructive feedback to fellow participants. Help each other learn and grow throughout the hackathon journey.

Accept feedback graciously and use it to improve your skills and contributions.
Reporting

Report any violations of this code of conduct to the event organizers immediately. All reports will be handled with confidentiality and sensitivity.

Retaliation against individuals who report violations is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated.
Enforcement
- Event organizers reserve the right to take appropriate action in response to violations of this code of conduct. This may include warnings, expulsion from the event, or other measures deemed necessary.
- Decisions regarding enforcement will be made with fairness, impartiality, and consideration for the well-being of the community.
