Non-Destructive Testing

What is Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)?

Non-destructive testing consists of various techniques used to identify defects, deterioration and areas of concern within existing assets or new construction, enabling proactive compliance and reducing risk of failure. It is widely applied across numerous plant & equipment applications, including piping, tanks, vessels, cranes, mobile plant and other critical infrastructure, and supports compliance with the relevant construction code or ASME/International ISO Standard.

Why Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Matters

Non-destructive testing (NDT) is typically applied as a non-intrusive inspection method, enabling the identification of anomalies and areas requiring monitoring or remediation. It reduces risk, improves the efficiency of plant and equipment, and supports the safety of those working on and around assets.

Integrating inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT) ahead of planned outages enables accurate condition assessment, reducing the risk of unplanned disruptions and supporting more effective remediation planning. Our capabilities also extend to construction and welding compliance, underpinned by our accredited systems.

Environmental consideration is another key driver for proactive inspection regimes to prevent incidents such as bursts, explosions, leaks and spills that can harm the environment. By taking a proactive, data-driven approach, we use inspection insights to identify risks early, minimise potential impacts, and support the ongoing compliance and continuity of mining and operational licences.

Accurate testing, reliable outcomes

Testing is often undertaken as part of risk-based inspections, particularly where assets are exposed to:

  • High usage and general wear and tear
  • Harsh or corrosive environments
  • Overloading or operation beyond design limits
  • Incidents, damage or abnormal events
  • Visible signs of deterioration or structural concern

Our inspection and testing capabilities include:

  • Advanced Methods – We provide various advanced innovative inspection services that includes but not limited to to AICIP & API 5/10 yearly’s, Automated Borescope, Corrosion Mapping, Eddy Current Array, Magentic Flux Leakage, Pulsed Eddy Current Array, Digital & Real-Time Radiography, Long Range Ultrasonics, Phased Array, Magnetic Tank Crawlers, ToFD, Leak Testing and Tube Inspection.
  • Conventional Methods – We deliver a full suite of techniques, including Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, Eddy Current, Positive Material Identification, Radiography, Ultrasonics and Visual Inspection.
  • In-Service Inspection – In-service inspection (ISI) involves planned, routine assessments to ensure safe operation of plant and equipment. As assets degrade over time particularly in harsh environments, we support clients with comprehensive inspection regime services to maintain and extend asset integrity & life cycle.
  • Risk-Based Inspections- RBI is a tailored inspection approach aligned to plant and equipment conditions. Our API and AICIP inspectors analyse asset history to apply targeted, condition-based inspection strategies.
  • Pipeline Inspection –  Pipeline condition monitoring is critical due to the risks of loss of containment. We support slurry and high-pressure gas pipelines through baseline surveys and ongoing inspection to track condition changes. Examples include Offshore Risers and high-pressure gas pipelines through baseline surveys and ongoing inspection to monitor and provide data throughout the life of a critical asset.
  • Tank and Vessel Inspection – High-volume storage and pressurised assets carry significant risk without regular monitoring and inspection. We ensure compliance while identifying and quantifying potential issues.

Delivering compliance while keeping assets operational.

Our experienced inspectors and NDT technicians work closely with clients to ensure compliance with industry codes, statutory regulations, and legislative requirements. We deliver in-service inspection of live operating assets — including piping and vessels—without the need for isolation or shutdown, supporting safe, efficient operations while maintaining productivity.

Accredited to deliver certainty

Providing confidence in the quality and consistency of our NDT services, delivered in line with National and International accreditations.
National & International accreditations provide us with a strong foundation for executing quality focused work scopes.

For clients with NATA or DNV requirements, our delivery provides greater confidence in results, supporting informed decision-making, compliance, and the safe, efficient management of assets.

Our NATA accreditation (National Association of Testing Authorities) to ISO 17025 confirms it operates to internationally recognised standards, delivering accurate, reliable testing within a verified quality system.

With the recent attainment of DNV‑CP‑0640 accreditation for Asset Classification of Offshore Assets, we now offer enhanced value through NDT services aligned to internationally recognised standards, supporting offshore and marine assets including FPSOs, offshore structures, semi-submersibles and vessels.

DNV‑CP‑0640 is a globally recognised certification framework that governs inspection and testing practices.
Operating to this standard ensures:

  • Consistent, high-quality inspection outcomes
  • Qualified personnel and approved methodologies
  • Robust quality assurance and control processes
  • Alignment with international best practice
