I keep saying that...
I'm at a crossroads and need to make some difficult choices. I only hope I'm making the right ones...
The question is, how strong can I truly be...
*wibbles*
Summer is upon us -- though the weather isn't so sure about that. We'll be lucky to break 70 today, not that I'm complaining! :P
The kids are finally out of school, and we are enjoying the fact that we don't have to drive up and down the hill and into town numerous times a day!
And since we had a birthday party at our house this weekend, which resulted in a MOSTLY clean house (and it hasn't been mostly clean in months!), I have suddenly turned into productive housewife (no matter that I am not really a housewife anymore...)
I have mixed and baked up a storm (pancakes, chocolate bread, whole wheat bread, a berry pie).
The garden has been watered.
The dishes have been done.
A craft has been setup in order to hold off the cries of "I'm bored" that will inevitably begin soon.
Laundry is even washing.
Now, if I could just focus on getting my TPP Admin work done!!
And maybe clean my room...
And find my coffee... (where did I put it?!)
My cold, cold coffee... *sigh*
Anyhow, happy Wednesday everyone!
Mel
PS: I will leave you with a picture of my chickens on the hunt (for bugs). Enjoy! ;)

I'm at volleyball watching my girls play a double header, and I am so appalled. There is a little girl here, shes probably about 12 months old and enclosed in a stroller. She has been so for well over an hour. She cries out, and the mom just ignores her, shoves a bottle in her face, or hands her phone to watch a video. All that baby wants is for her mom--or anyone--to pick her up, and it is breaking my heart. There are 3 adult family members sitting right by her, and they don't give a rats ass that that baby is miserable and neglected!!
Some people shouldn't reproduce!
Grrrrr!!!

So I am sitting at a local bakery waiting for eldest daughter's pickup time and I see this art:

(this art is a part of my middle daughter's class art project--which is displayed at the bakery.)
Now, when I look at the picture all I can see is Hermione, with really long hair, looking off into the night. As I sat considering it, I Suddenly felt the need to sketch! So I did, sketch that is! Which in and of itself is amazing as I've been rather dead artistically speaking lately (or so I've felt). All I had with me were a couple of pencils and my journal--no sketch pad. But I can't wait to get home and flesh the idea out more. And I'm pleased enough with the results...

Sketch one

Sketch two
It was a nice feeling, creating again. Even if it is just a little sketch or two in my journal. And I can see more that I will meed to create before this image lets me go... Things involving paints or ink... Heee!
Perhaps this will help me get out of my writing rut too! Cause I am really getting tired of hitting a wall every time I try to do something lately! Lol! ;)

From this side of the drive to California I always wonder what I was thinking when I agreed to take the kids to grandma's for a few days!

I don't know if you can tell, but in this pic is it 5am and we have 736 miles to go...
Again, what was I thinking?!
