People End Poverty.

Handouts Don’t.

At MAI, we equip local leaders with the tools, training, and Christ-centered support they need to halt poverty at the root. — not just materially, but spiritually, physically, emotionally, and relationally.

Because when people lead, change lasts.

According to the World Health Organization,
over 70% of global suffering is preventable through basic
health knowledge and behavior change.

That’s why we equip people — to stop poverty where it starts.

Listen first.

Stay long.

Equip wisely.

Walk with.

Watch hope grow.

Watch change last.

If people are the solution

What's holding them back?

Too often, people are disconnected — from opportunity, from dignity, from one another.

Communities don’t suffer because they lack potential. They suffer because no one has equipped them to unlock it.

We believe the solutions to poverty already exist inside the people living closest to it. They don’t need rescue. They need support — and someone to walk with them.

When people discover their God-given potential,  they rise to lead lasting change.

With the right tools and mindset, communities begin to thrive - spiritually, physically, emotionally, and relationally. People learn together. Neighborhoods are discipled. Families reconnect. Hope spreads.

This is ownership. This is dignity. This is healing in every dimension of life — from the inside out.

Real voices. Real transformation.

When communities partner with MAI, they begin to:

“My heart was changed because they kept coming — with respect, care, and love.”

— Phal, Cambodia

“After the training team left, we are grateful for the guidance we received. We were once shy, insecure, and fearful, but now we have peace, direction from God, and confidence to lead.”

—  Group Member, Philippines

“People are no longer keeping their pain hidden. They are talking, praying together, and beginning to heal.”

— Local church leader, South Sudan

“They chose a CHE committee and started working together. Then the miracle started happening.”

— Daniel, Togo

“When my family stopped getting sick, my neighbors asked me to teach them how to make the filter. Several others have now learned from me.”

— Rose, South Asia

Rooted in relationship. Powered with partnership. Driven by local leadership.

We don’t do the work for them, we come alongside to train, coach and encourage everyday people to lead change in their own communities through Christ-centered principles and tools that cover four key areas:

Physical health

Preventing disease, improving nutrition, and protecting mothers and children

Emotional resilience

Healing trauma, building strong families, and fostering inner strength

Spiritual growth

Connecting faith to daily life through discipleship, prayer, and biblically-rooted teaching

Relational restoration

Rebuilding trust, resolving conflict, and revitalizing community connections

We walk with communities — not ahead of them — as they learn, apply, and multiply what they’ve discovered.

This isn’t outside aid.
It’s inside-out transformation.

This isn’t Theory

We’ve Seen it Work.

For more than 45 years, MAI has partnered with thousands of communities around the world — not by running programs for them, but by equipping people within, watching them rise and celebrating their success.

When communities are trusted, trained, and encouraged to lead, something shifts:
Dignity is restored. Hope multiplies. And faith takes root in everyday life.
