CATS-MIST (Mechanical Engineering) started in 2008 to provide advanced testing and consultancy services. The centre operates laboratories for hydraulic pump testing, vehicle performance, dynamometer analysis, material testing, fatigue testing, and hardness evaluation. Under the supervision of highly qualified professionals, the department evaluates hydraulic pumps for WASA and private organizations, tests 2 and 4-wheel vehicles for emission, fuel economy, braking, acceleration, and engine performance, and measures material composition, phases of metals, and hardness. Recent developments include high-horsepower engine testing and fatigue analysis of components. CATS-MIST (ME) continues its work with integrity and quality, supporting research, consultancy, and industrial projects while enhancing the reputation of MIST.
