Our mission is to conserve, protect, and restore wild and working landscapes to enhance the health of the water, soil, and forests in Mendocino County.
The Mendocino County Resource Conservation District (MCRCD) is a non-regulatory, public agency providing conservation leadership for voluntary stewardship of natural resources on public and private lands. We work with communities to protect and restore natural resources in a landscape that supports agriculture, urban areas, and wild lands.

“We were impressed with your professionalism that began immediately with your on-time arrival. Your combined knowledge and exceptional technical expertise put us at ease. Thank you for the patience you afforded us as you inspected the property, explaining to us the many things we can expect, obstacles that could arise, and problems that often occur. We look forward to continuing to work with you over the coming months to achieve our shared ambition: fire safety, for ourselves and our community.”
