MCIT Online Student Association (MOSA) is excited to organize this Hackathon and hopes that students find this as an opportunity to build a portfolio project, level up Github skills, get to know your fellow Online MCITers better, and have fun! An expert panel of judges including industry and academic professionals will evaluate completed submissions and choose a winner. A winner will also be chosen through popular vote by fellow Online MCITers.

We recommend that you clearly address the following major points: the who, what, how, and why of your project. However you choose to do so is up to you!

  • Who is contributing to this project?
  • What is your concept – give us your elevator pitch!
  • How will your concept be implemented – what language will you use, etc.?
  • Why is this concept interesting, or what needs does it address?

This hackathon is open to the University of Pennsylvania - MCIT Online Student Association (MOSA) members only. 

 

Requirements

  1. All members of the team have registered on DevPost and are added to the project submission.
  2. All submissions must have their repo on Github (the entire commit history must be present)

Judging Criteria

  • Proposal
    Submitting a proposal on time. Share what you would like to accomplish with your team in this project and how will it contribute to the greater good. Drifted from the proposal? Submit a final reflection to justify design changes. (5 points)
  • Technical Difficulty
    How technically impressive was the project? Was the technical problem the team tackled difficult? Did the technology involved make you go "Wow"? (5 points)
  • Creativity
    Is the project creative, new and innovative? Is it something we already know or is the idea disruptive? (5 points)
  • Presentation/Usability
    How is the design and user experience of the project? Is it easy to understand and use? Is it intuitive? (5 points)
  • Usefulness/Relevance
    Is this a product that people will use in their daily lives or in the context it is intended? Will it make lives better? (5 points)
