So in '04 I entered the Matrix via Columbia-Presybterian Hospital in Bronx, NYC.

Almost two decades later I'm rather sane, surprisingly.

My experience with the Matrix, many times echo the allegories of Mark Ryden.  Brilliant Artist as can be seen here.
