Preparing Students to Succeed in a Digital World

At Mastery Schools, we are committed to helping all students become proficient digital learners who can effectively use technology to think critically, collaborate, manage their learning tasks, and produce high-quality academic work.

In support of Plan 2029, our technology and operations experts are actively working to:

  • Equip all Mastery classrooms with technology that aligns with instructional needs.
  • Leverage technology to increase opportunities for blended learning, asynchronous work, and real-time feedback.
  • Implement a comprehensive K-12 technology curriculum that progresses from basic digital readiness to specialized computer science.

And our commitment to students doesn’t end at graduation. Starting in 2025, Mastery is proud to allow graduates to keep their computers as a recognition of their achievements. Learn more about our curriculum and opportunities to teach technology at Mastery Schools below.

Our Curriculum

Our research-backed curriculum provides engaging, hands-on experiences, opens doors to college and career opportunities, and prepares students to thrive in an increasingly digital world.

K-8 programming ensures that every student builds a strong foundation in digital citizenship, digital literacy, and computer science.

  • Digital citizenship: Students learn responsible technology use through the Common Sense Media curriculum, ensuring they develop the skills to navigate the world safely and ethically.
  • Digital literacy and skills: Students sharpen essential skills, including typing proficiency, using the TypingClub curriculum.
  • Computer science and coding: Through the CodeHS curriculum, students explore computational thinking, problem-solving, and foundational coding skills.

At the secondary level, students can opt into a computer science pathway that prepares them to earn college credit through Advanced Placement courses utilizing the CodeHS curriculum. This programming is thoughtfully designed to help close the equity gap in computer science education, ensuring that students of all backgrounds have access to high-quality coursework that fuels innovation and opportunity in the modern workforce.
