MarsClock1.30
Publisher Description
MarsClock -A Mars-time alarm clock, with times for MER, Curiosity, and Perseverance rovers.
MarsClock is an alarm clock that lets you see times for all three of NASA's Mars rovers -- Spirit, Opportunity, and Curiosity -- as well as the InSight lander and the new Perseverance rover. You can also set alarms in Mars time, either as one-shot alarms or as alarms that will repeat every sol (that is, every Martian day).
This app is released for free by a (former) rover driver on NASA's Mars missions. Enjoy it!

* Fix some crashes at startup under (especially) Android 14.
* Fix alarms that are set before a device restart but fire afterward, under (especially) Android 11+. I haven't fully figured out how to work around some weird Android restrictions, so this appears to work under all Android versions except 11 through 13 (14 is fine). On those versions only, the *first* alarm to fire after a device restart might or might not work, but subsequent ones appear to work fine. I have more to investigate here.
version 1.24
posted on 2023-12-01
Updating for API level 34. Also fixed some crashes that would mostly have occurred on Android 13/14.
version 1.20

No functionality changed in this release; just updating for API level 31 per Google Play Store policies.
version 1.18

No functionality changed in this release; just updating for API level 30 per new Google Play Store policies.
(A separate Wear OS app will be published soon.)
version 1.16
posted on 2020-10-17
Corrected sol-0 midnight time for Perseverance rover (LP). You might want to delete and reinstall any LP alarms.
version 1.14
posted on 2020-07-31
* Adds Perseverance (USA Mars 2020) rover.
* Corrects "About Mars Time" dialog.
* Wear OS: improves ambient mode by turning time gray, supports complications, scales better to small watches.
* Alarms correctly awaken locked devices under Android 10+. (Android now requires the "android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW" permission, a.k.a. "Allow display over other apps." If needed, MarsClock asks for this permission when you first set an alarm.)
* Fixes boot crash on some Android 10 devices.
version 1.12
posted on 2020-07-24
* Adds Perseverance (USA Mars 2020) rover.
* Adds "About Mars Time" dialog.
* Wear OS: improves ambient mode by turning rover/lander time gray, supports complications (two), scales better to small watches.
* Alarms correctly awaken locked devices under Android 10 and later. (Android's new way of doing this requires the "android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW" permission, a.k.a. "Allow display over other apps." If needed, MarsClock asks you for this permission when you first set an alarm.)
version 1.8
posted on 2019-01-03
* Added InSight lander; changed labels as needed to distinguish lander from rovers. (The difference between landers and rovers? Rovers have wheels.)
* Changed Mars Day : Earth Day ratio from 1.02749127 to 1.02749125, as in more recent SPICE kernels. The difference amounts to roughly 1s every 600d.
* Fixed a boneheaded error that crashed MarsClock in landscape mode. Also touched up icon placement in landscape mode.
* Wear now scales better to larger screens than the Moto 360 I mainly tested with.
