To be honest, I think people just overthink it. Gonads really only come in two types, so... Seems quite simple to me. People either produce sperm or eggs, or they are infertile. Majority of intersex people still only have one type of gonad, even if you have have both types it is still just the combination of both types and not some different third type. The whole societal concept of gender as something separate from biology is just entirely fictional and not really a real thing.
