| Dear Yuletide writer person
I am hastily writing this so I don't forget or just keep putting it off. To give you some indication of where my head is at, I can't remember the website where we do sign-ups let alone what I signed up for (i've been doing this for something like 8 years now?).
I didn't write any particulars into my requests because I'm not all that particular. I don't mean I don't care, I just mean that part of the fun is seeing what other writers do with the subject matter and I don't like to restrict your creativity by being too prescriptive.
That said, I know most people like to have some idea of what their recipient would like. If only because it just might kick start the inspiration!
So I provide the following:
Figure Skating RPF: My wishlist here is for Nathalie/ Fabian or Daisuke/ Morozov. But I am totally aware you might have signed up because you're into Nat and Fabs as friends or even Daisuke/ Fabian, because why not? Heck, if you write Daisuke/ Fabian I would herald you as my hero. That would be awesome. If you want to write Nathalie/ Morozov that would be awesome. Of even just a Morozov fic, or a Nathalie fic, or - well, you get the picture.
Justified: I haven't finished watching season 4 yet, but I'm working my way through it now and should definitely be done by Christmas so don't let that worry you. I like Raylan/ Boyd, Ava/ Boyd, Raylan/ Ava and Duffy. Seriously, I just think Duffy is fucking hilarious. I do wonder if those eyebrows can be conveyed in fic though. I don't have a lot in the way of instruction here, but I guess it's hard not to be interested in what life was like before Raylan left, if that floats your boat. Or what does Duffy do when he's not hanging out with bad guys and looking permanently perplexed (possibly that's been answered in season 4. If so, ignore this question)?
The Murdoch Mysteries: A cute show about cute people. There's so many good characters in this show, it's a shame they had to do them such a great disservice with that terrible face-off two-parter to end last season. A fic about the pairings, or even the characters on their own would be nice. If you want to do slash - boy or girl - I'm keen on that too. I'm a big fan of femslash so if you're feeling the Grace/ Julia love, that would be awesome. It's a show that borders on fantasy in many ways, so let your imagination run wild!
Please Like Me: Any fic about this show would be welcome. Any at all. I don't care what it's about. Josh goes to the moon! Josh, Tom and Claire take a road trip! Josh learns to communicate! Also, if you write fic and somehow John Thomas gets to see it, he's sure to have some kind of weird crisis about it. Bonus!
That's it, I guess. Have some fun, tell me what you think about these characters, go a bit nuts! Enjoy! | |

| ( What the Internet is ForCollapse )Team Canton pairings abound! (It seems like all the stories I've written lately are written solely to mock Scott Moir. Whatever happened to when I was inspired by actual chemistry? By the way, I don't hate Scott Moir, he's just fun to mock. That's his fault and he should suck it up). | |

| Figure Skating RPF ficlet, Tessa Virtue/ Meryl Davis (with a side of Scott Moir/ Charlie White), post Sochi Olympics
*
They’re barely off the ice after the victory ceremony when Scott says, “well, I guess that turned out as everyone planned.”
“What are you implying?” Charlie says.
Scott shrugs, feigning innocence. “I’m just saying, that much like your hairstyle for the last four years, there were no surprises out there tonight.”
“I don’t know,” Charlie says. “It was pretty surprising that you didn’t drop Tessa on her ass in that final lift.”
Scott gasps in mock horror. “Are you saying Tessa is heavy?”
“Tessa’s a feather,” Charlie says. “I’m implying that you spend more time at the gym checking out your profile in the mirror than lifting weights.”
“And you spend more time flipping your hair at physical therapy students.”
“For the last time, I was helping them with their assignment,” Charlie says. “And I don’t need to look at other girls. Have you seen how hot my girlfriend is?”
“Gee, no, Charlie,” Scott says. “Tell me more about your really hot girlfriend whom I know nothing about.”
“Ugh,” Meryl says, turning away from Charlie and Scott to put her guards on. She looks at Tessa. “Are you looking forward to finally being rid of them as much as I am?”
“Oh my god yes,” Tessa says. “No more Scott looking over my shoulder every time I eat a muffin and saying, is that low fat? No more insisting everyone from the judges to the camera operators are in on a conspiracy to make us look bad.”
“No more stealing my conditioner. No more 'have you seen how hot my girlfriend is?' every time someone suggests we could be a couple.”
“That’s harsh,” Tessa says.
“I guess they can’t be pretty and insightful.”
They follow Charlie and Scott out to the press room. “They're perfect for each other,” Tessa says.
“Don’t you think?” Meryl says. “I bet they got drunk once, made out and, in the morning, pretended it never happened.”
“Only once?”
“Definitely not enough,” Meryl says. “There’s a lot of sexual tension there.”
Ahead of them, Scott and Charlie are walking a yard apart, but clearly in step. Even their arms swings in time.
“Hey, Meryl,” Tessa says, before they enter the press room. “After this is done, do you want to go out, get drunk, make out and in the morning pretend it never happened?”
“Oh Tessa,” Meryl says. She takes a step inside the press room and the camera flashes go off in their faces. “I thought you’d never ask.”
End. | |

| Hello! I feel like it's been a while since I wrote one of these, but it's only been a couple of years. I still feel a bit weird though. Like I'm not sure what to say. Bear with me if I sound like I'm waffling, okay? To begin with, I'm not going to be too prescriptive here. I hope that's ok. I really just want a good story and I'll leave the details up to you. I'm not so shippy about any of these couples that I want to see them have sex, or be in love or have babies (especially not having babies!), so it's not like you have to even get them together. Just have them relate in some fashion. I like complicated relationships. But I also like comedy and satire if you think that's more your bag. I also like experiments with style and form, if you feel like flexing a few artistic muscles. I enjoy doing that myself. ( The specific stuff, when I'm not trying to be specific.Collapse )Best of luck. See you on the flipside. | |

| French TwistFigure Skating RPF (Brian Joubert/ Tomáš Verner, et al, PG) Author's Notes: 2008 words. For leksa because someone has to read this. And Josiane Balasko because this is nowhere near as funny as her movie. Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction and is not intended to reflect on the personalities or behaviours of the persons mentioned within. Pure fantasy ( Nice is like a carnival.Collapse ) | |

| Saturday ( Buffy the Vampire Slayer, (Buffy/ Tara, PG) Author's Notes: Saved from my dead website and re-posted here. In an alternative universe where Willow is dead and Buffy isn't, Tara and Buffy wallow in memories. I'm calling this the "Everyone Says I Love You" Challenge. Elizabeth M-for-Miss-Edith Barr and I had yet to put the words "I love you, I love you too" into a fic. Feeling this was a bit remiss of us, Liz challenged me to put the words in a fic with a pair she had chosen. She's a very evil woman, so she gave me Buffy and Tara. This is the result. ( We've taken to spending Saturday afternoons sitting on the porch stepsCollapse ) | |

| The View From Up HereFigure Skating RPF (Daisuke Takahashi/ Jeremy Abbott, NC-17) Author's Notes: 3102 words. A tale of Four Continents (Some people just look really hot standing next to each other on a podium). Also, it's Takahashi's birthday so posting seemed appropriate. Title from a charming little ditty entitled "Rhythm of Love" by the Plain White Ts. Thanks to leksa, my beta and remote figure skating coach. Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction and is not intended to reflect on the personalities or behaviours of the persons mentioned within. Pure fantasy. * ( Jeremy doesn’t know these guys at all.Collapse ) | |

| Dear Yuletide gift bearer Hello! If we've never met, welcome to my LJ (and me!). Nice to have you here. Take a seat, put your feet up, maybe get the bartender to make you a drink. I'd love a Manhatten while you're ordering. If we have met before, the above also applies, except I really hope you're also thinking, "wow, I'm writing for that BAMF. She rocks," and not, "Oh god, she's such a flake. She probably requested something completely different to what she wants and I'm DOOMED." With those formalities aside, I should say first off, sorry to not put more information into my requests. I really didn't want to limit your creativity by suggesting there were only certain stories I wanted. For example, I didn't want to check m/m when gen would be just fine (although I think I put m/m on the figure skating. I'll get to that later). I want a good story. I don't care how you do it. And I'm of the opinion that no one writes a good story by forcing themself to write something they don't want to. Really, there's nothing I don't like: m/m, f/f, gen, anything in between, AU, total AU, even mpreg if you do it right (what's right? I don't know - make me believe it?). If you have a story you want to tell, I want to hear it. Also, I like characters who are flawed, complicated and obtuse. How you put that in a request, I don't know. But here's the fandom breakdown: ( Figure Skating RPSCollapse )( Talkin Bout Your Generation RPSCollapse )( Mysterious SkinCollapse )Well, that's all I got. It's supposed to be reassuring. Uh. Hope it turned out that way. | |

| The Big FreezeFigure Skating RPS (Johnny Weir/ Stéphane Lambiel, NC-17) Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction and is not intended to reflect on the personalities or behaviours of the persons mentioned within. Pure fantasy. Author's Notes: 14 324 words. Undying gratitude to leksa who looks up the weird shit that I won't, joins all my separated words and says, "dude, no," when she should. Where would I be without her? This story began as a series of prompts from the bordellinos. tangleofthorns suggested a glass slipper, azurejay suggested the noir theme and intl_princess provided the lyrics below. intl_princess also provided a location prompt (London) which I also used, although I’m pretty sure she meant London, UK and not London, Ontario. The noir private detective theme informs the writing style (including a very unfamiliar 1st person past tense narrative) and the plot (and the title). If you’re familiar with the genre you’ll spot lots of tropes. Respect to noir re-inventionist movies like Brick and Bound for the inspiration. Johnny Weir is a private detective. That’s all you really need to know. Who is the lamb and who is the knife - Florence and the Machine. Part 1( He came in to my office on Friday.Collapse )Part 2 | |
