Makeup Training Academy has online classes at MakeupClassOnline and we continue offering in-person and private education. Our digital platform has Terri’s groundbreaking Color Theory in Flesh Tone classes and we will be adding new classes throughout the year. Our goal is to create a full academy experience online for all of our students.
Our in-person classes are professional, hands-on, technical classes designed to build your skill as an artist regardless of experience. We teach the fundamental methods, techniques and theories needed to do makeup in all mediums and on any skin. There are many ways to build your abilities as a makeup artist at MTA.

Terri Tomlinson, the founder of Makeup Training Academy, started the school with a mission to empower and mentor students and working makeup artists. Terri believes that it is important to teach the highest-caliber, and most up-to-date makeup techniques available. Terri has literally “Reinvented The Wheel” with her trademarked Color Wheel, and has adapted this modern, exciting approach to her teaching methods. Having had successfully taught the art and business of makeup for many years, Terri and MTA have an alumni that includes hundreds of successful make-up artists. Under Terri’s tutelage, many MTA students have worked on local & national print ads, television & film, fashion & videos along with establishing successful careers as independent MUAs. Now, Terri has expanded her teaching to include Virtual online learning and private coaching & mentorship.

Terri Tomlinson is a Makeup Artist, Educator and Content Creator. She is the owner of Terri Tomlinson Makeup Training Academy in Dallas and Creator of The Flesh Tone Color Wheel®. Terri’s global reach expands to artists, brands, schools and the consumer. Terri has personally trained thousands of makeup artists in person and online at MakeupClassOnline.com. She is highly engaged in the industry as an educator, with a focus on color theory in skin and neutral. Her unique method of working color theory in skin is taught and used globally.

In-Person Classes
Our in-person training is offered as private or semi-private classes. Private training allows you to learn specific skills based on your experience and needs. Terri creates your curriculum, brings in models and guides you through the education with demo and practical work.
Semi-private classes give students plenty of personalized attention and hands-on learning. Models are provided so that your hands-on time is maximized and you are able to work on a range of skin tones. For information on Private Training, click here.
