I found myself singing old band music today. Really random songs too; I went from singing "Vientos Y Tangos" to humming stuff from my sophomore year marching show. Now I'm listening to all the concert band music that I have on my computer. I really wish we could play some of that repertoire here, but we don't have enough people to make it sound good. Eh, I still really enjoy band here. I've just been in a very nostalgic mood lately.
So I kind of like a boy...
and I really need to learn how to flirt...
At 3 am this morning I decided that I was going to pursue voice as my primary instrument instead of clarinet. It really was my first love, and while I do love playing my clarinet, singing is just so much more a part of me. Now my mom can live even more vicariously through me since she wanted to be a voice major.

Today has been good.

Laura and I decided that part of the Gillingham where Rachel has a solo is extremely Shire-esque and that she represents Frodo and that our little accompaniment part makes us Samwise, Pippin, and Merry. Yes, we're dorks.

Saw Mel and a bunch of other McLean people, but I was mostly excited about seeing Mel. Cause she's just awesome and I haven't seen her enough these past few years. Saw my first 7th Grade Sketch show, which was really funny and I'm glad I finally went.

Went to the Bollywood event at the UC with Brynn afterwards (read: we wanted free Nawab) and stayed for the movie that actually ended up being pretty fantastic. Taare Zameen Par isn't the stereotypical Bollywood film so it lacks the awesome dance numbers, but it was really sweet and the songs were rather good. The lines at some points were a little ridiculous, but it's Bollywood.
I really have missed the ladies of rugby.

classssses

Classes have started. I'm feeling pretty good about this semester, but we'll see if that lasts after Abstract Algebra tomorrow and once rehearsals for wind symphony and women's chorus start and rugby practice begins. Shit, I'm going to be busy this semester.
Right after writing my previous post I got hit by the trout bot. It's similar to the salmon bot (http://kami-llama.livejournal.com/45999.html), but with trout. The weird thing is the person hadn't updated since a year ago.
So I'm sitting in my room (which is fabulous btw, I mean, Megan and I lucked out) listening to my music, and I start hearing the faint sounds of bagpipes during the softer tracks. I think I'm going crazy until Megan texts me that there's some guy playing bagpipes outside our dorm. At the last band concert someone had told me Tracy was going to W&M, so I ask Megan if the guy had red hair. The answer is yes and sure enough, I walk outside and there's Tracy, playing his bagpipes. I feel like I'm living back at Warner Ave where I could hear the pipers practicing from my house.

K announced he was leaving McLean now and not at the end of the year. He said the stress was too much after the second stroke. I'm sad I won't be able to see his last event with the band (first home football game) since I'll already be back at school. I'm still trying to wrap my head around him not being at McLean.
