Microsoft 365 Copilot: People agent availability update

The People agent in Frontier will retire in March 2026, with its key features integrated into core Microsoft 365 Copilot. No admin or user action is needed. Users can still use the People companion app and Org Explorer. Feedback via Frontier remains encouraged. No compliance issues identified.

Outlook: Share Word, Excel and PowerPoint local files via the new Outlook for Windows

The new Outlook for Windows will support sending locally stored Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files as email attachments starting May 2026 (June for GCC). This feature is on by default, requires no admin action, and aligns with classic Outlook functionality, aiding users transitioning to the new Outlook.

Microsoft Defender for iOS: End of support for iOS 16 devices

Microsoft Defender for iOS will end support for iOS 16 devices on April 30, 2026. Devices on iOS 16 will no longer receive updates or support, while iOS 17 or later devices remain fully supported. Organizations should identify affected devices and encourage upgrades or replacements.

Targeted file and folder restores in Microsoft 365 Backup

Microsoft 365 Backup will enable admins to browse, search, and restore individual files or folders from SharePoint and OneDrive restore points starting early 2026. This granular restore reduces recovery time, requires the SharePoint Backup Administrator role, and respects existing backup policies without impacting users.

Microsoft Purview | Insider Risk Management – Ability to preview content in Insider Risk Management Alerts
