Update on Dad: His hip is not broken! :) The doc said it was the way he fell that caused the joint to pop out - it was the hip he had replaced 10 years ago. His x-ray looked good. He passed a "road-test" (walk around the ER). Mom can take him home but he will have to use a walker to steady himself for a little while.

I talked to him on the phone. He sounded *fine*. He's already playing it up for drama and worried about dinner. I wanted to smack him because my mother sounded so exhausted when I talked to her.
