If we don't license a journal or have a book, by using interlibrary loan you can get what you need!

Interlibrary Loan Guidelines

• While there is typically no charge for interlibrary loan, we will notify faculty or staff if the lending library charges are unusually high, or due to copyright articles must be purchased directly from the publisher. If you agree to the costs, LSUHS Library must bill the person making the request. 
• Ochsner staff in north Louisiana who are not affiliated with Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport should request interlibrary loan through the Ochsner Library at https://ochsner.illiad.oclc.org/illiad/.

Document Delivery from LSUHS Library

Beginning January 2024, affiliates are welcome to use Clio to request electronic copies of things owned or licensed by the library. If the LSUHS Library does not have the item, our staff automatically request the material from another library as an interlibrary loan. Most electronic materials are delivered within 2 business days, typically much faster. Please review important guidelines about these services.

Document Delivery Guidelines 

• Requests for printed material (books) still need to be retrieved from the information desk in the library when they arrive. We cannot send these materials via campus mail. 
• These services are only available to LSUHS affiliates (faculty, staff, and students) and Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport staff. The LSUHS Library does not provide these services for non-affiliates or local businesses. Please consult a public library or a commercial document supplier.
• LSUHS Library may limit the quantity of requests for workflow considerations or copyright compliance.
