Hey,

I decided to change my layout cause i was getting tired of that light blue colour. I have a few other things to work on, but i'm mostly done!

Will you let me know how much you like (or don't like) my new layout? ^_^

So, i made 20 new LOST icons. I haven't posted in a while, i know but better late than never!! *grin*

So, we're gonna learn how to make this icon    from this base 

I took a picture of Maggie Grace from www.lost-media.com, cropped it and moved it around etc...and got this:

1. Duplicate your base once and set the duplicated later on screen, opacity 100%. Duplicate that duplicated layer and set it on Overlay (or Hard Light) opacity 100%.

Merge all.

2. So now, Maggie’s face looks a bit too bright so we’re gonna erase softly the duplicated layer (the one set on screen) around Maggie’s face. Then, I used the texture below from uglypricetag and set it on Overlay 100%.

3. Use this other texture from wash_when_dirty and set it on Multiply, opacity 100%. Erase only over Maggie’s body this time so it doesn’t look too pink.

4. Finally, use this gradient found on www.absolutetrouble.com and set it on Overlay 90%. Use a brush you like or write text and Voila, you're done!

Ok, so if you want to learn how to get this:  just follow the steps. It requires a lil bit of knowledge of paint shop pro. Btw, it's easily adaptable to PS or other programs.

I chose this pic of Boone (Ian Somerhalder) from a LOST screencap taken from www.lost-media.com.

This is the image after i croped it and sharpened it once:

1. Duplicate your base and set it on screen, opacity 100%. Now, duplicate the duplicated layer and set it on Overlay (or Hard light), opacity, 100%. Finally, duplicate again the same layer and set it on screen opacity 80%. It should look like this:

Merge all.

2. In the tools palette, use the "soften" tool, just on Ian's cheeks, his forehead, but make sure you don't use it on his lips, nose, eyes and hair. It should look close to this now:

3. Use this texture (see just below) and set it on lighten opacity 100%. Erase all around Ian's face til you get something like this:

4. Use this other texture and set it on color, opacity 100%. Then, do the same and erase around the face and successively, use this gradient and set it on Overylay, opacity 50%. You should have this now:

5. Finally, add the text or text brush you like. You can also leave it blank.

Finally, i got about what i wanted..there are still a few stuff to fix, but here's my new layout! :)
What do you think of it? don't be too hard though..*lol* I've been working on it for 2 days.

I should be making some new icons with new templates, and brushes etc in a while, but my summer job is currently taking me some time so i don't have THAT much time to make artwork!

Please, comment on the new layout, i'd like to have opinions!
