FROM BURDEN TO FREEDOM
#Living_The_SpiritualLife_By_Faith
When a person is born again, he begins to live a life completely different from the life he lived before salvation. This new life is called the spiritual life. However, when I first started my spiritual life, it did not feel easy. Instead, it felt like a heavy burden. The reason it felt like a burden was simple: I was still trying to live my life according to my own thoughts and efforts. I believed in God, yet I still relied on my own understanding and strength.
Through the teachings of Rev. Pastor Dr. Ock Soo Park, however, I came to discover something life-changing: the spiritual life is not meant to be difficult. In fact, it is very simple. The secret of the spiritual life is to forsake my own thoughts and allow Jesus Christ to work in my life. When I learned this truth, my heart began to experience real freedom.

I clearly remember many sermons from Pastor Mo Gae Gon, a missionary from South Korea. In his preaching, he often encouraged us to live for the gospel. He frequently quoted the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Although I heard this message many times, I still struggled in my heart. After graduating from university, I faced the same challenge that many young people face: finding a job. At that time, employment opportunities were scarce, just as they are today.
This situation created anxiety in my heart. Yet God began to guide me in a different direction. Instead of being consumed by worries about work, God gave me a heart to serve. I began teaching English at IYF Academy, and through this experience I learned that when we place God’s work first, He takes care of our needs.

In 2018, I applied for an internship in the call center department of a telecommunications company. On the day of the interview, something remarkable happened. A deaconess in our church shared a promise from the Word of God with me from Revelation 3:7–8: “I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it.”
I accepted this promise in my heart. With that faith, I went to the interview. As the Scripture declared, God opened the door. I passed the interview, received the internship, and after four months I was hired as a staff member. It was clear to me that this was not the result of my ability but the work of God.

In 2020, another opportunity came. I applied for a job at Lumicash S.U. (A child mobile money company of Viettel Burund_Vietnamese Telecommunications Company operating in Burundi) Once again, I passed the interview and the written test, and I was given one month of internship before being officially hired.
However, this time something happened in my heart. Instead of remembering God’s promise, I began to trust in myself. Satan planted thoughts in my mind, making me believe that I had succeeded because of my own intelligence and capability. The Bible warns us in Jeremiah 17:5: “Cursed be the man that trusteth in man.” Because I relied on my own strength instead of God, I lost the job for about three months.

After losing my job, I went to see Missionary Pastor
#JaeHyeokChoi for fellowship. During our conversation, he reminded me of God’s promise in Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.”
Through that fellowship, I realized my mistake. My heart had left the Word of God and returned to trusting in my own ability. Pastor
#JaeHyeokChoi gave me very simple but powerful advice. He said: “Brother Jack, put all your heart into the work of God, and God will bless you.” Those words deeply touched my heart.

From that moment, I decided to focus on serving God rather than worrying about my future. I began helping with the ministry by transcribing the French sermons of Rev. Pastor Dr. Ock Soo Park.
During that time, I had fellowship with a Samonim in our church. I shared with her my testimony about losing my job and the guidance I had received from Pastor
#JaeHyeokChoi. She encouraged me with the Word of God from Romans 8:32: “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” She also shared another promise from Isaiah 60:10, reminding me of God’s mercy and favor.
A few days later, something unexpected happened. A man who did not even know me personally heard about my situation from colleagues. He decided to help me. Soon afterward, the company where I had previously worked as a trainee contacted me and invited me to sign a contract. At that moment, I clearly saw how important it is to reject our own thoughts and allow the Word of God to guide our hearts.

The Bible teaches that those who belong to God must live by faith. The Apostle Paul declared in Galatians 2:20: “Yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God.” Although I still live in this physical world, I have learned that my life should no longer be led by my own thoughts but by Christ who lives in me.

As I continued to walk by faith, God began to open new doors in my life—both in ministry and in my professional career.
In December 2024, God allowed me to serve His ministry in a greater way when I was appointed as the Vice Legal Representative of Good News Mission Burundi. Through this responsibility, I have been able to support the work of the gospel and contribute to the growth of the church.
In the same way, God also continued to guide my professional life. In January 2026, at Lumicash S.U., the company where I currently work, God allowed me to be appointed as the Chief of the Bank Reconciliation Division.
Through these experiences, I clearly see that God not only leads my spiritual life but also guides my daily life and career. He has allowed me to serve as a leader both in His ministry and in my workplace.
When I look back at these events, I understand that these opportunities were not the result of my own strength or ability, but the result of God’s grace working in my life.

Today, as I continue serving as a Youth Team Leader, and as the Vice Legal Representative, I believe God is still shaping and strengthening my leadership through His Word and through various spiritual experiences. Because of what I have seen God do in my life, I have strong faith for the future.
I firmly believe the words of the Apostle Paul: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”(Philippians 4:13). My journey has taught me one simple but powerful truth:
* The spiritual life is not about trusting ourselves.
* It is about trusting Christ who lives in us.
And when we live by faith in Him, God opens doors that no one can shut.
