• A BROKEN COMMITMENT: WHY YOU STOPPED SERVING IN GOD’S HOUSE

Every believer is called to serve in God’s house.

Some started with fire—choir, ushering, evangelism, media, cleaning, intercession—but along the line, something happened.

The commitment broke. The passion faded. The service stopped. Today, God is calling His children to return.

    1. YOUR SERVICE IS A COVENANT, NOT A CASUAL ACT

Serving God is a spiritual covenant. It is not a voluntary hobby; it is a divine responsibility.

Deuteronomy 10:12 – “What does the Lord require of you… to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”

Serving God is not optional; it is a requirement. Many broke their commitment because they lost sight of the covenant nature of service.

    2. MANY STOPPED SERVING BECAUSE OF OFFENCE

Church hurt, misunderstanding, gossip, rejection, and conflict have stopped many from serving.

Matthew 24:10 – “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.”

Offence is Satan’s most successful weapon to break a believer’s commitment.

You don’t stop serving God because humans offended you. God did not offend you.

    3. SOME STOPPED BECAUSE THEIR SERVICE BECAME BUSINESS

Many who once served freely now charge money for choir ministration, drumming, media, ushering, or evangelism.

Matthew 6:24 – “You cannot serve God and mammon.”

When service becomes a contract, the anointing is lost. God rejects service driven by money, not love.

    4. OTHERS STOPPED BECAUSE THEIR PRIORITY SHIFTED

Work, school, business, relationships, and personal ambition can break your commitment when placed above God.

Haggai 1:4 – “Is it time for you to dwell in your paneled houses while this house lies in ruins?”

Your life will always suffer when the things of God are no longer your priority.

    5. SOME LOST THEIR FIRE DUE TO SPIRITUAL WEAKNESS

When prayer life dies, service automatically dies.

Romans 12:11 – “Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.”

Where there is no fervency, there is no service.

    6. GOD REMEMBERS YOUR SERVICE—BUT HE ALSO NOTICES YOUR STOPPAGE

God never forgets past service, but He also notices when you walk away.

Hebrews 6:10 – “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love…”

He remembers your commitment but is calling you to return.

    7. THE DANGER OF BROKEN COMMITMENT

    When a believer stops serving:

    * Their spiritual covering reduces

    * Their passion weakens

    * Their gifts decay

    * Their reward is affected

    * Their intimacy with God drops

Luke 9:62 – “No one who puts his hand to the plough and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”

    * Breaking commitment affects your destiny.

    8. GOD DOES NOT BLESS TALENT—HE BLESSES SERVICE

You may be gifted, but if you are not serving, you are not useful in the kingdom.

1 Peter 4:10 – “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…”

Your gift was given for service, not decoration.

    9. RETURN TO YOUR FIRST LOVE

God is calling you back to where you started before life and situations distracted you.

Revelation 2:4–5 – “You have forsaken your first love… Remember… Repent… and do the works you did at first.”

    - Go back to choir.
    - Go back to evangelism.
    - Go back to service.
    - Go back to where your heart once burned for God.

    10. GOD STILL HAS NEED OF YOU

Even if you stopped, even if you failed, God is still calling: “Return to service.”

Isaiah 6:8 – “Here am I; send me!”

God is waiting for those who will rise again and restore their commitment.

Your commitment may have broken—but God’s love for you has not broken.

He is calling you back to rebuild, to renew, and to serve Him again with passion, humility, and faithfulness.

    PRAYER
Father, restore my commitment. Rekindle my fire. Heal my wounds. Reset my priorities. Empower me to serve You faithfully again. Amen.

  • Don’t Be Like Saul

    1 Samuel 15:22–23

“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.”

King Saul was chosen by God to lead His people Israel, but he failed because he disobeyed God and allowed pride, fear, and self-interest to rule his heart.

The story of Saul is a solemn warning to every believer today — that position, wealth, or anointing cannot replace obedience and humility before God.

God wants our hearts, not just our actions. When we choose our way over God’s way, we lose divine favor, just like Saul did.

1: SAUL STARTED WELL BUT ENDED POORLY

Saul began as a humble man. In 1 Samuel 9:21, he said, “Am I not a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel?” — he was humble and obedient at first. But after he became king, pride crept in.

Many Christians today start well with God — they pray, give, and serve faithfully — but after receiving blessings, promotion, or success, they begin to forget God. Pride leads to downfall (Proverbs 16:18).

2: SAUL OBEYED PARTLY BUT DISOBEYED FULLY

In 1 Samuel 15, God commanded Saul to utterly destroy the Amalekites and everything they owned. But Saul spared King Agag and kept the best animals, pretending it was for sacrifice.

This is partial obedience, which is complete disobedience in God’s eyes. You cannot obey God halfway. Either you surrender fully, or you rebel completely.

3: SAUL FEARED MAN MORE THAN GOD

Saul admitted in 1 Samuel 15:24, “I have sinned: for I transgressed the commandment of the LORD, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.”
He valued people’s opinion more than God’s command.

Many today refuse to stand for truth because they fear losing friends, reputation, or money. But a true servant of God must say, “I will obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29).

    4: SAUL LOST GOD’S PRESENCE

When Saul disobeyed, the Bible says, “The Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul” (1 Samuel 16:14). What a tragedy!
Disobedience drives away God’s presence. It brings spiritual dryness and confusion. No wealth or position can replace the peace that comes from the presence of God.

God is still looking for men and women who will obey Him completely — not halfway, not when convenient, but in total surrender.

Don’t be like Saul, who allowed pride and fear to destroy his destiny.

Be like David, who said in Psalm 40:8, “I delight to do thy will, O my God.”

    * Choose full obedience over partial obedience.

    * Use your blessings — money, time, influence — to serve God.

    * Seek God’s presence above all else.

    * Repent where you have disobeyed, and God will restore you.

    Pray This Prayer

Lord, help me not to be like Saul. Deliver me from pride and disobedience. Teach me to obey You fully and to use all that I have for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • Your Faithful Commitment Counts..

Faithfulness and commitment are two powerful qualities that define a true believer’s relationship with God.

In a world full of distractions and inconsistencies, God is still seeking those who will remain faithful and committed to Him until the end.

Your faithful commitment to God, His work, and His Word truly counts—both in this life and in eternity.

    1 Corinthians 15:58

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

    1. What is Faithful Commitment?

Faithful commitment means staying true and loyal to God despite trials, temptations, and challenges.

It means serving God wholeheartedly—not because of what you will get, but because of who He is.

    Matthew 25:21

“His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things…”

True commitment is not measured by what you say, but by what you continue doing even when it is difficult.

    2. God Rewards Faithful Commitment.

God never overlooks your faithfulness. Every prayer, every act of service, every offering, and every step of obedience counts in His sight.

    Hebrews 6:10

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name…”

When you remain faithful, even when others give up, God marks your dedication and will reward you in His time.

    3. Faithful Commitment in Difficult Times.

Your commitment is truly tested when things are hard.

Anyone can serve God when everything is good, but faithful believers remain steadfast in storms.

    Job 13:15

“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him…”

When you choose to stay with God even in pain, your faith grows stronger and becomes a testimony to others.

    4. Examples of Faithful Commitment in the Bible

    - Daniel remained faithful in Babylon (Daniel 6:10).

    - Ruth stayed committed to Naomi and to God (Ruth 1:16–17).

    - Paul finished his course faithfully (2 Timothy 4:7–8).

    - Jesus remained faithful to His mission even unto death (Philippians 2:8).

    - Each of them proved that faithful commitment counts in God’s kingdom.

    5. How to Stay Faithfully Committed

Stay rooted in the Word of God – (Psalm 119:105)

    Pray without ceasing – (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Keep your eyes on Jesus, not the world – (Hebrews 12:2)

Serve God with joy and consistency – (Colossians 3:23)

Fellowship with other believers – (Hebrews 10:25)

Faithfulness grows stronger in fellowship, prayer, and continual trust in God.

    6. The Reward of Faithful Commitment

Your faithful commitment will not go unrewarded—both now and in eternity.

    Revelation 2:10

“Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.”

Even when no one notices your service, God does. When you stand before Him, your faithful works will speak for you.

Beloved, your faithful commitment to God counts more than you know.

Stay steadfast, keep believing, and continue serving. Your labour in the Lord is not in vain.

When you remain faithful to the end, your reward will be eternal.

    Galatians 6:9

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

    Pray This Prayer

Lord, help me to remain faithful in my walk with You.

Strengthen me to serve You with all my heart.

Let my commitment never fade in times of trial.

Reward every labour of love I render in Your kingdom.

Grant me grace to finish my race faithfully in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  • My Service in the Vineyard

    Matthew 20:1–16; John 15:1–8; 1 Corinthians 15:58

Every believer is called to serve in God’s vineyard. The vineyard represents God’s kingdom — His Church, His work, and His mission on earth. Jesus said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman” (John 15:1).

Every believer is a branch expected to bear fruit through service, obedience, and love.

Serving in God’s vineyard is not a suggestion; it is a divine responsibility. God saved us not just to sit, but to serve. Your salvation qualifies you for service, and your faithfulness in service determines your reward.

    - UNDERSTANDING THE VINEYARD

    Matthew 20:1–7

In this parable, Jesus likened the kingdom of heaven to a householder who went out to hire laborers for his vineyard. The vineyard is symbolic of God’s kingdom and His ongoing work in the world. Every believer is called to be a laborer in this field.

The owner of the vineyard is God.

    The workers are believers.

The work is spreading the gospel, building lives, and advancing the kingdom.

Whether you are a pastor, usher, singer, intercessor, or evangelist, you have a portion in the vineyard. No role is too small — each one matters to God.

    - MY CALL TO SERVICE

    Romans 12:6–8; 1 Peter 4:10

Every believer has been endowed with gifts for service. “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

Your talent, your time, your voice, your hands, and your resources are all part of your service to God. God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called.

    Ask yourself:

Am I using my gift for God’s glory?

Am I faithful in the little He has given me?

Am I a contributor or a consumer in the vineyard?

    - THE ATTITUDE OF A TRUE SERVANT

    Philippians 2:5–8

True service begins with humility. Jesus, our perfect example, “made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant.”
Your service in the vineyard must be characterized by:

Faithfulness: (1 Corinthians 4:2) “It is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.”

Love: Serve not for recognition, but for love of God.

Obedience: Do what He commands, not what pleases you.

Diligence: Serve with zeal, not laziness. (Romans 12:11)

    - REWARDS FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE

    Matthew 25:21; Hebrews 6:10

God never forgets your labor of love. Your service in His vineyard has eternal reward. The faithful servant will one day hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

    Rewards include:

    * Divine promotion (Luke 16:10–12)

    * Spiritual fruitfulness (John 15:5)

    * Heavenly crowns (2 Timothy 4:8)

    * Divine favor and protection (Exodus 23:25–26)

No service rendered to God is wasted. He is a just rewarder.

    - WARNING AGAINST NEGLECT

    Matthew 25:24–30; Luke 13:6–9

God detests idleness in His vineyard. The unfruitful servant lost his talent because he refused to serve. Likewise, the barren fig tree was cut down for not bearing fruit.

If you refuse to serve God, you risk spiritual stagnation, loss of relevance, and missing divine reward.

Do not allow excuses, pride, or discouragement to stop you. Keep serving, even when no one applauds you — for the Master sees all.

    - MY SERVICE IS MY WORSHIP

    Colossians 3:23–24

Serving God is not just a duty; it is an act of worship. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
Your service should bring glory to God and reflect your gratitude for salvation. Every time you serve with the right heart, heaven rejoices.

Your service in God’s vineyard is your proof of love for Him. Jesus said, “Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit, He taketh away.” (John 15:2)
Let your life count for God.

Be fruitful, be diligent, be available, and be faithful. The time is short — serve with all your might before night comes when no man can work (John 9:4).

    PRAY THIS PRAYER

    - Lord, thank You for calling me to serve in Your vineyard.

    - Father, strengthen me to serve faithfully without growing weary.

    - Lord, help me to use my gifts effectively for Your glory.

    - Every spirit of laziness and discouragement in my service — be destroyed in Jesus’ name.

    - Let my service produce fruit that will remain in Jesus’ name.

No role is too small — each one matters to God. - MY CALL TO SERVICE Romans 12:6–8; 1 Peter 4:10 Every believer has been endowed with gifts for service. “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” Your talent, your time, your voice, your hands, and your resources are all part of your service to God. God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called. Ask yourself: Am I using my gift for God’s glory? Am I faithful in the little He has given me? Am I a contributor or a consumer in the vineyard? - THE ATTITUDE OF A TRUE SERVANT Philippians 2:5–8 True service begins with humility. Jesus, our perfect example, “made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant.” Your service in the vineyard must be characterized by: Faithfulness: (1 Corinthians 4:2) “It is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.” Love: Serve not for recognition, but for love of God. Obedience: Do what He commands, not what pleases you. Diligence: Serve with zeal, not laziness. (Romans 12:11) - REWARDS FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE Matthew 25:21; Hebrews 6:10 God never forgets your labor of love. Your service in His vineyard has eternal reward. The faithful servant will one day hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Rewards include: * Divine promotion (Luke 16:10–12) * Spiritual fruitfulness (John 15:5) * Heavenly crowns (2 Timothy 4:8) * Divine favor and protection (Exodus 23:25–26) No service rendered to God is wasted. He is a just rewarder. - WARNING AGAINST NEGLECT Matthew 25:24–30; Luke 13:6–9 God detests idleness in His vineyard. - MY SERVICE IS MY WORSHIP Colossians 3:23–24 Serving God is not just a duty; it is an act of worship. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” Your service should bring glory to God and reflect your gratitude for salvation. Every time you serve with the right heart, heaven rejoices. Your service in God’s vineyard is your proof of love for Him. Jesus said, “Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit, He taketh away.” (John 15:2) Let your life count for God. Be fruitful, be diligent, be available, and be faithful. The time is short — serve with all your might before night comes when no man can work (John 9:4). PRAY THIS PRAYER - Lord, thank You for calling me to serve in Your vineyard. • Your Duties as a Believer

    Romans 12:1–2, Ephesians 4:1–3, James 1:22

Being a believer is not just about confessing Christ; it’s about living daily in obedience to Him.

Salvation is a gift, but Christian living is a responsibility. Every believer has duties—spiritual, moral, and practical—that reflect the light of Christ to the world.

The moment we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, we are called into a life of service, holiness, and witness.

    - Duty of Total Surrender to God
Romans 12:1–2 — “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice…”
Our first duty is to surrender ourselves wholly to God. This means dedicating our time, talent, and treasure to His service.

A believer should no longer live for self but for Christ who died and rose again (2 Corinthians 5:15). Total surrender means allowing God to take control of your thoughts, desires, and decisions.

    - Duty to Live a Holy Life
1 Peter 1:15–16 — “Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
Holiness is the character of God, and as His children, we must walk in holiness. This means separating ourselves from sin, worldly habits, and ungodly associations.

A believer’s speech, dressing, and behavior should glorify God. Without holiness, no one will see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14).

    - Duty to Love One Another
John 13:34–35 — “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you…”
Love is the badge of true Christianity.

It’s not enough to love in words; we must love in action. As believers, we should show compassion, forgive others, and help the needy. When we love genuinely, the world sees Jesus in us.

    - Duty to Study and Obey the Word of God
Joshua 1:8 — “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth…”

A believer must be rooted in the Word. Bible study strengthens our faith and helps us discern the will of God. The Word is our guide, our light, and our source of victory. But it’s not enough to hear the Word; we must do it (James 1:22).

    - Duty to Pray Without Ceasing
    1 Thessalonians 5:17 — “Pray without ceasing.”
Prayer is a believer’s lifeline. It’s through prayer that we communicate with God, receive strength, and resist temptation.

A prayerless Christian is a powerless Christian. Every believer must develop a consistent prayer life—both in private and in fellowship.

    - Duty to Share the Gospel
Mark 16:15 — “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

Evangelism is not a suggestion; it’s a command. Every believer is a witness for Christ. You may not be a pastor, but you can tell someone about Jesus, share your testimony, or live in such a way that others are drawn to God through your life.

    - Duty to Serve in the House of God
1 Corinthians 15:58 — “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast… always abounding in the work of the Lord.”

Every believer has a role in the body of Christ. Serving in church—whether by singing, cleaning, teaching, or giving—is part of our duty. Faithful service brings reward both on earth and in eternity.

    - Duty to Maintain Unity and Peace
Ephesians 4:3 — “Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

We are called to live in harmony with fellow believers. Avoid gossip, strife, and division. A united church is a powerful church. Peace is a fruit of the Spirit, and believers must live peaceably with all men (Romans 12:18).

    - Duty to Be an Example to Others
Matthew 5:16 — “Let your light so shine before men…”

Our lifestyle preaches louder than our words. Be an example in speech, conduct, and character. Let your presence in your home, workplace, and community reflect Jesus.

The world may not read the Bible, but they can read your life.

*As believers, our salvation is the beginning of our duty. We are saved to serve, redeemed to represent Christ, and called to be the light of the world.

Let’s renew our commitment today to fulfill our duties faithfully, so that at the end, we will hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21)

    Pray This Prayer
*Lord, help me to live according to Your Word daily.

*Give me the grace to fulfill my duties as a believer faithfully.

*Deliver me from spiritual laziness and compromise.

*Use me as a vessel to reflect Your light in my generation.

*Strengthen me to serve You till the end.

    If you are blessed comment.
