REPENTANCE ! I KNOW what Repent means. Repentance is an 8 step process, which Jesus taught me. Repentance is NOT just saying you are sorry you sinned. Repentance is NOT just admitting you have sinned. Repentance is a way of Life, Eternal LIfe, and if you do NOT live it, then your name will be BLOTTED OUT OF THE LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE when you die! It is YOU and those like YOU who misinterpret and misunderstand the command to Repent! It is not only a changed way of thinking but a changed way of acting too! The thief on the cross only had to admit his sin to Jesus and He received Eternal Life right there! We who are GIVEN TIME have much more responsibility with the gift of repentance than the thief on the cross! It took me many years of DENIAL before I accepted how horrible I was to Jesus and His Holy Spirit. I am Born Again, and I Repented the day I accepted Jesus. But, I did NOT truly understand the next step of Repentance and I lived a disobedient life of unrepentance. Yes, I cried and felt shame every time I sinned, and I asked Jesus for forgiveness every time. Even so, Jesus kept telling me that THAT IS NOT ENOUGH, MICKEY! YOU NEED TO DO MORE THAN JUST REGRET ALL THE TIME! YOU MUST STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND LIVE IN REPENTANCE! So, Jesus finally got through to me, and Jesus showed me how to hate sin in such a way that I didn't even want to look at it in my MIND! I went from a guilt driven life to a Repentant Life of VICTORY! You think I'm teaching a lie, and you think I'm trying to add works to Salvation, but I'm here on this earth today to tell you that instead of a Guilty Christian Walk of HYPOCRISY we can live a Christian walk of VICTORY OVER SIN! This is so very important, because Jesus hates hypocrisy more than anything! Christians living in HYPOCRISY are living a lie and are teaching a lie, that living in guilt is acceptable when it is NOT! Jesus told me years ago that if I did not straighten up that He would blot my name out of His Book of Life! Jesus told me that if I did not get right with Him that I was going to end up in hell! WELL, IT TOOK ME MANY YEARS, BUT JESUS FINALLY DELIVERED ME FROM THE POWER OF SIN! All I'm doing here is going one step further! I am being FRUITFUL, because THAT is the next step beyond living a Repentant Life! Here is the 8 Step Process for Repentance. I also included a link to a document I wrote on how to become Born Again. Repentance! One very important thing you should know, and obey, and do, is repentance. Repentance is an eight fold process which you should do. You should first accept you are a sinner. Then you should WANT to turn from sin. And then, ultimately, you should turn from sin. Here are the 8 stages for repentance: (Jesus gave this to me!) 1. Accepting that you are a sinner. 2. Hating your sins; Hating your sinful behavior; and Hating your sinful thoughts. 3. Desiring to stop sinning. 4. Asking Jesus to change you, and asking Jesus to give you a repentant mind and a repentant heart. 5. Fighting sin when it appears to you. 6. Trusting and waiting for Jesus to deliver you from the sins that plague you. 7. Obeying Jesus as He changes you, so you stop sinning those sins completely. 8. Finally, walking in obedience and repentance, not going back to your old sinful behaviour. Stages 1-4 are required to become Born Again. Stages 5-8 come after you are Born Again. Many people try to accomplish stages 5-8 without Jesus, but truly, it is nearly impossible without Jesus! If you are coming to Jesus to be saved you should hate sin and hate sinning, and you should desire to stop sinning. Wanting to turn from sin is needed for Salvation, and then Jesus will change you to stop sinning, and if a certain sin keeps popping up, come to Jesus for forgiveness and deliverance. Jesus delivers some people from sins immediately, but most people are not completely delivered from some of their sins for many years. Repentance alone cannot save you. Only Jesus can save you, and only Jesus can change you so you don't sin, and even then your flesh will continue to want to sin! Many people have stopped sinning some of their sins and yet they still went to hell, because they did not trust in Jesus to make them Born Again. Only Jesus can save you, and Jesus will give you a repentant mind and heart, but you must put forth the effort to not sin! You must ask Jesus to save you from yourself.
