My last place i lived at in southern cal was Long Beach.... It was 1 of 3 cities bidding on getting the Queen Mary Cruise Ship... Named after the Queen Mother of British Monarchy. as you may see, Long Beach won the Bid back in the 1960s before i was Born.

I took this picture across the harbor near where i lived in an area where there are shops and all and walking area..

in case you are not aware. its bigger than the Titanic and was also known as the GREY GHOST as it was painted grey during WWII and yes Hitler had a Bounty on it to be Sunk, it never happened crossing the Atlantic and all from USA to England..

i believe it is still apart of a Scottish festival every February.

if you see a dome behind the queen mary, it was built and used for the "Spruce Goose" plane that Howard Hughs made which flew for about an hour or so.
