TODAY'S MESSAGE
SERMON TITLE: WHEN THERE’S A SABOTEUR IN A CHURCH OR A NATION
Not every battle ycomes from outside.
Some of the greatest damage in a church, a family, or a nation comes from within.
A saboteur doesn’t always carry a weapon
They carry whispers, division, rebellion, and hidden agendas.
One person, if not discerned, can weaken what took years to build.
Today, we confront a hard truth:
What happens when the enemy is not far away—but sitting among us?
KEY BIBLE VERSES
1. Matthew 13:25
"But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat..."
Sabotage often happens when there is spiritual carelessness. When vigilance is low, the enemy plants confusion.
2. 2 Samuel 15:6
"So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel."
Saboteurs win influence subtly—through charm, manipulation, and emotional deception.
3. Acts 20:29-30
"After my departure savage wolves will come in among you... even from your own selves men will arise..."
The greatest threats are not always outsiders—but insiders with wrong motives.
4. Proverbs 6:16-19
God hates those who sow discord among brethren. Division is not a small issue—it is a spiritual offense.
STRUCTURED POINTS
1. A Saboteur Operates in Secrecy
They don’t announce themselves.
They smile in public but plant seeds in private.
They gossip
They twist truth
They create suspicion
Insight: Satan works best in hidden places. What is not confronted will grow.
2. A Saboteur Targets Unity
Unity is power. That’s why it’s the first target.
They divide leadership
They create factions
They turn people against each other
Insight: The enemy doesn’t need to destroy a church if he can divide it
3. A Saboteur Seeks Influence, Not Service
They don’t serve—they position themselves.
They crave control
They undermine authority
They gather loyal followers
Insight: True servants build others. Saboteurs build themselves.
4. A Saboteur Brings Spiritual Weakness
Where sabotage exists:
Prayer decreases
Love grows cold
Vision becomes blurry
Insight: Spiritual sabotage leads to slow destruction, not instant collapse.
BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: ABSALOM (2 Samuel 15–18)
Absalom didn’t attack King David openly. He
Stood at the gate (positioning)
Flattered people (manipulation)
Criticized leadership (subtle rebellion)
Won hearts (influence takeover)
Result?
A national crisis.
A broken kingdom.
Personal destruction.
Lesson:
Sabotage always looks harmless at the beginning—but deadly at the end.
PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS
1. Stay Spiritually Alert
Don’t be spiritually asleep. Pray for discernment.
2. Guard Your Heart Against Gossip
Refuse to entertain divisive conversations.
3. Honor Leadership but Test Everything
Respect authority, but stay rooted in truth.
4. Promote Unity Actively
Be a bridge-builder, not a divider.
5. Confront Issues Biblically
Don’t ignore sabotage—address it with wisdom and love.
DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS
Sabotage is not just human—it is spiritual warfare in disguise.
The enemy uses offense, pride, and misunderstanding as entry points.
Not every critic is a saboteur—but every saboteur often starts as a critic.
Discernment is more important than intelligence in spiritual environments.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
1. Have I ever unknowingly contributed to division?
2. Do I entertain conversations that weaken unity?
3. Am I building or breaking what God is doing?
4. Can God trust me with influence without becoming a saboteur?
5. How do I respond when I see wrong—wisdom or reaction?
POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS
Lord, open my eyes to discern hidden sabotage in my life and environment.
Father, cleanse my heart from every spirit of offense, pride, or division.
Every plan of the enemy to divide our church/nation, be destroyed in Jesus’ name.
Lord, raise faithful and loyal people in positions of influence.
I declare unity, peace, and spiritual strength over my church and nation.
Any hidden saboteur working against God’s purpose—be exposed and removed!.
STRONG CLOSING CALL TO ACTION
This is not a message to fear people—
It is a call to grow in discernment and responsibility.
You have a choice today:
Be a builder… or a breaker
A unifier… or a divider
A vessel of God… or an instrument of disruption
The future of your church, your family, and even your nation depends on people who choose unity over ego.
Stand up.
Guard your heart.
Protect what God is building.
Because one faithful believer can stop what one saboteur tries to destroy.
If you have not given your life to Jesus kindly do so by joining a Bible believing Church.
