A FISH THAT SHOOTS ELECTRICITY, FROM ITS EYES!

Beneath the sand on the ocean floor, nearly invisible to anything passing above, lies one of the most unusual predators God created. The electric stargazer is built for concealment. Its body stays buried while only its eyes and mouth remain exposed, both positioned on top of its head. It watches from below, perfectly still, until the moment is right. Then in a sudden burst, it launches upward and captures its prey in an instant.

But this fish carries a feature that sets it apart in a dramatic way. The electric stargazer can produce electric shocks, and those shocks originate from specialized organs located directly behind its eyes. What looks like a simple, hidden fish is actually equipped with a built-in electrical system, capable of delivering a jolt strong enough to deter predators and potentially aid in capturing prey.

It does not stop there. This same fish is also equipped with venomous spines for defense. Its flattened body allows it to disappear into the seafloor. Its upward-facing eyes give it a constant view of what swims above. Its rapid ambush strike and suction feeding make it highly effective. Some species even use small lure-like appendages to draw prey closer. Every feature works together, allowing it to survive in an environment where hesitation means death.
