Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.
Today I am out at the BC Craft Fair. Come out and see me. There will be lots of different things for you to look at and maybe even something you just cannot live without….or don’t want to. Haha.
My printer was on its last leg and becoming more annoying than beneficial. We had discussed getting a new one a while back, but when I showed my husband the kind that I wanted (much like the one I have at work) and the price tag, we agreed that it was not a good time and to make do. Yesterday, on our trip home, he told me about a refurbish place that does commercial printers … we checked them out, and now I have a new baby sitting beside me. As soon as she decides to talk to my computer, I will be a very happy person…haha.
Over the last few days, I was able to finish my story I was working on, so today I will start the editing process. Since I do not like to read, editing is a thorn in my side; however, the alternative is to pay someone in excess of $500 to read and correct my errors. I was cheap before I retired, but I am becoming an even bigger prude. Haha. In overcoming this lack of desire to read, I have found in my own writing that my mind expands to different ideas and concepts. Yes, I know that is the point, but in editing my own work, I see why a story must grab a finicky reader like me, thus creating a stronger appeal to make a better story.
Many times God will lead us down roads we are not to keen on because He knows that the outcome will be huge. I am not a fan of reading. It bores me. I lose my train of thought. I fall asleep. I hardly ever remember what I have read … with the exception of the Bible…it intrigues me. I am not sure if it is because I most likely have ADD or another reading disability…but I know that if a book does not grab me in the first two pages, I probably will not finish it. Regardless of how good the rest of the story is. The fact that I like to write is funny considering my lack of interest in reading, but I think that is why He gave me this desire…to help others like me who want to see a story in a different arena..
Is God leading you to do something that is out of your wheelhouse? Is he telling you to walk this way instead of that? Is it in an area that you have prominently displayed a distaste for? You may be surprised at the outcome at the end of that path. Trust in His plan and overcome your inclination to be a rebel. Look at me…a writer of books who does not like to read. Cannot get much more opposite than that.
Be blessed.
