𝐓𝐡𝐲 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐞 ✍️ “𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘏𝘦 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴, 𝘉𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘏𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘯." We often cling to controlling life like a steering wheel. We maneuver our futures, pursue shortcuts, and resist detours. Yet frustration follows when life resists our control. We pray, but often with conditions. Whether striving to secure outcomes or struggling to accept them, the question is not whether we have a will but whether we are willing to release the wheel to God. 🕮 Matthew 6:10 declares, “𝘛𝘩𝘺 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘥𝘰𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦. 𝘛𝘩𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘩, 𝘢𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯.” Jesus teaches us to pray not for our will to prevail, but for God’s will to be accomplished. He is training us to align with what Heaven has already determined. This is not a prayer of suggestion—it is a prayer of submission. Picture a ship guided by the wind. No matter how strong the sails, without surrendering to the wind, the ship cannot move. So, it is with us. Our strength is futile unless directed by God’s will. Prayer is the posture of surrender, letting His Spirit carry us where He pleases. Scripture calls us to deny ourselves and yield fully. “𝘐𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘦, 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘺 𝘩𝘪𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧” (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟏𝟔:𝟐𝟒). “𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵” (𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐬 𝟑:𝟓). “𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋” (𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟑𝟕:𝟓). “𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦” (𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟐:𝟏). God’s will is not burdensome—it is good, acceptable, and perfect (𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟏𝟐:𝟐). Consider a river flowing toward the sea. It does not demand its own path; it flows where the course is carved. Like clay in the potter’s hands, we are shaped by His design, not our own. “𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴… 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥” (𝟏 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟓:𝟔). Your will is not destroyed in surrender—it is directed. God does not ask you to abandon your desires; He asks you to entrust them to Him who knows what you truly need. We resist surrender because we fear loss. Yet Christ has already surrendered all; “𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧… 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴” (𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟐:𝟖). Through His obedience, we are brought into God’s will. We’re not surrendering to an unknown will—we’re surrendering to the will that redeems us. So, what are you holding back? What plan, what dream, what outcome are you afraid of releasing? You don’t need Christ just to bless your plans—you need Him to shape your will. Today, pray the prayer you may have been avoiding: “𝐓𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞.” Then sit in silence, and let His Words mean what they say. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, we confess that we often seek our own will above Yours. Teach us to surrender fully and trust Your perfect plan.
