*🕊 DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 98*
*DATE: 8TH APRIL 2026*
*TOPIC: ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE?*
*ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:2 KINGS 2:9 (NKJV)*
*“*And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, ‘Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?’ Elisha said, ‘Please let a double* *portion of your spirit be upon me.**
*Devotional Message:*
God is willing to use any man who is willing to pay the price. Divine purpose is not limited by background, lineage, or heritage, but by hunger, pursuit, and consecration.
Elisha’s life demonstrates this truth clearly (2 Kings 2:1–14). Though he was not originally counted among the sons of the prophets, he distinguished himself by his willingness to abandon all and follow Elijah. His commitment was proven through service, persistence, and unwavering focus.
When Elijah tested him repeatedly by asking him to remain behind, Elisha refused. His response revealed deep hunger and determination. While others stood at a distance and even attempted to discourage him, Elisha remained steadfast because he knew what he desired.
At the appointed time, his persistence was rewarded. As Elijah was taken up, the mantle fell upon Elisha. Immediately, he demonstrated the manifestation of what he had received by parting the Jordan, just as Elijah had done.
This teaches us that proximity is not enough—pursuit is required. It is not enough to come from a spiritual background or to be surrounded by spiritual activity. What distinguishes a man is his personal hunger and the price he is willing to pay.
God is still seeking those who will dedicate themselves to:Prayer, the study of His Word,Fasting,Faithful service and Focus on divine assignment.
Beloved, do not be distracted by those who may not understand your pursuit. There may be moments when others mock or question your dedication, but remain steadfast. What God is building in you will, in due time, become evident to all.
Scripture reminds us that though the vision may seem delayed, it will surely come to pass at the appointed time.
*Prayer:*
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the calling You have placed upon my life. I receive grace to pursue You with all my heart. Help me to remain steadfast, disciplined, and focused on my assignment. Strengthen me to pay the price required and to remain faithful in every season. I declare that I will not settle for less than what You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
