THE SEVENTH SAYING FROM THE CROSS
"Father, into Your hands I commend My spirit." — Luke 23:46

Thought Of The Day...
At the very end of His earthly journey, after the pain, the betrayal, the suffering, and the weight of humanity’s sin, Jesus does something profoundly powerful—He surrenders.
Not in defeat.
Not in despair.
But in complete trust.
“Father, into Your hands I commend My spirit.”
These are not the words of a man whose life has been taken from Him—these are the words of a Son willingly placing His life into the hands of His Father. Even in death, Jesus is in control. Even in His final breath, He is anchored in relationship, calling God Father.
This moment is not just an ending—it is a revelation.
It reveals that true peace is found in surrender.
It shows us that no matter how dark the moment, we are safest in the hands of God.
It teaches us that faith is not proven when life is easy, but when we trust God with everything—even our final breath.
Jesus’ surrender becomes our invitation.
We often try to hold on—control outcomes, manage pain, fix what’s broken, and carry burdens God never intended us to bear. But Jesus shows us a better way: release it… place it… entrust it… into the Father’s hands.
Your fears.
Your future.
Your family.
Your calling.
Your very life.
There comes a moment in every believer’s walk where the greatest act of faith is letting go and saying, “Father, I trust You completely.”
Because the same hands that received Jesus’ spirit are the hands that hold you now.

Something to Think About...
• What areas of your life are you still trying to control instead of surrendering to God?
• Do you truly trust God with your unknowns, your pain, and your future?
• What would it look like today to fully place your life into the Father’s hands?

Prayer...
Heavenly Father,
In this sacred moment, I come before You with a heart that longs to trust You more deeply. Just as Jesus surrendered His spirit into Your hands, I choose to surrender my life to You.
Father, into Your hands I place my fears, my worries, and every burden I’ve been carrying. I release the need to control what I cannot change. I let go of anxiety about tomorrow, knowing that You are already there.
Teach me to trust You not only in the good moments, but also in the difficult and uncertain seasons. When I feel weak, remind me that Your strength is made perfect in my surrender. When I feel overwhelmed, help me rest in the assurance that Your hands are strong, faithful, and secure.
Lord, I give You my plans, my desires, my family, and my purpose. Align my heart with Your will. Help me to live each day with confidence, knowing that my life is safely held in Your care.
And when I face moments of fear or doubt, let these words rise within me:
“Father, into Your hands I commend my spirit.”
I trust You completely.
I surrender fully.
I rest in You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration...
Today, I declare that my life is in the hands of God.
I will not be ruled by fear, anxiety, or uncertainty.
I trust the Father with my past, my present, and my future.
I declare that I release control and embrace divine surrender.
What I cannot carry, God is more than able to hold.
What I cannot see, God already knows.
I declare that I am safe in the Father’s hands.
I am covered, kept, and sustained by His power.
No matter what I face, I will trust Him completely.
Today, I choose faith over fear, surrender over control, and peace over worry.
With confidence and assurance, I proclaim:
“Father, into Your hands I commend my spirit.”
And I rest in Him.
