Good morning to everyone. Grace and Peace be with you.

Have you ever wondered why Jesus tells us to come to him as a child? What would be the significance of coming to him as a child?

Yesterday was a prime example of that request.

My grandkids are here for the week. Though I still have to work, I worked a deal with my boss to take half a day yesterday, and today is my day off. Yesterday, after lunch, the kids and I made a cake. While the cake was baking, we played our version of ‘Would You Rather’. (A board game that asks you questions of choices…very odd choices.) Our version is simply taking turns reading the cards and watching the expressions and responses to each of the questions. Such as: Would you rather run 20 miles in wooden shoes or ride a bicycle 100 miles without a seat and the seat post sticking up? What would you choose?

While playing this game, I was sure that I was going to need oxygen because I was laughing so hard. After the cake finished, we took it out to check, and stupid me tried to catch a hot glass baking dish with my bare hands … thankfully by granddaughter had on the oven mitts and caught it. We laughed about that as well. While the cake was cooling, it was time to go to the she shed and the creek. Another trip of complete and total laughter. On the way back to the house, they each thought that they (had) me on several occasions …walking wrestling matches ensued.

I believe that Jesus wants us to come to him as a child because their love for life is pure and simple. Baking a cake. Asking odd questions and making a choice. Throwing rocks into a creek. Tickles. Walking wrestling. Pure Joy.

Today, do your best to do just that … Go to the Father as a child and embrace his presence.

Be blessed.

**And he said, “ I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. –Matthew 18:3
