𝐁𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠? ✍️ “𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵, 𝘺𝘦𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘸 𝘯𝘰 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘺— ‘𝘛𝘪𝘭 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘦 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘺.” Have you ever woken up in a pitch-black room during a power outage? You know your furniture is there, but you stumble and trip because you cannot see the path. Spiritual blindness is exactly like that. We have the Bible on our shelves and the truth in our ears, but without God’s light, we still wander in the dark. We don't need better furniture; we need His power to be turned on. 🕮 𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟏𝟏𝟗:𝟏𝟖 cries, “𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘭𝘢𝘸.” This isn’t a request for sharper eyesight—it’s a desperate plea for spiritual vision. The psalmist knew what we often forget: without God’s light, we walk through a world full of lies, illusions, and half‑truths. In a world full of "𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴," we need more than information—𝐰𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. The psalmist’s prayer—“𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘦𝘺𝘦𝘴”—is the confession of a blind soul. He doesn’t boast of insight; he begs for mercy. Scripture teaches that the heart is naturally blind (𝟐 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟒:𝟒), unable to grasp truth without God’s illumination. We misjudge life until God turns on the light. The Bible teaches that "𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘩 𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘵" (𝟐 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟒:𝟒). We are born into a spiritual blackout where "𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥" (𝟏 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟐:𝟏𝟒). “𝘈𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘱𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰𝘥” (𝟐 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝟑:𝟏𝟔). Yet Scripture is not a puzzle for the clever, we may possess the Book and still lack the sight. We remain blind—until God opens. The Psalmist said that the Scripture is “𝘢 𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘱 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘵, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩” (𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟏𝟏𝟗:𝟏𝟎𝟓); we must realize that "𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵" (𝐏𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐦 𝟑𝟔:𝟗). To ignore this is to live where "𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘯, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺’𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦." We must pray for sight, for only the "𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘎𝘰𝘥" (𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝟓:𝟖). Jesus Christ is the only One who can flip the switch and end our spiritual blackout. He declared, “𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥: 𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴” (𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝟖:𝟏𝟐). He takes us from the "𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨" of our blindness and brings us into His "𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵" (𝟏 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟐:𝟗), making the path home clear at last. Are you still stumbling through life in the dark, wondering why you keep tripping over the same sins? What if the reason growth has stalled is not rebellion—but blindness? You need Christ to turn the lights on in your soul today. Will you stop trying to navigate the darkness on your own and ask the Master to open your eyes to the "𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴" of His Word? 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫: Heavenly Father, I confess that I am blind without Your Spirit. Turn on the light of Your Truth in my heart today. Help me to stop stumbling and start beholding the glory of Christ in Your Word. Open my eyes to see the path You have for me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
