GLORIOUS SUNDAY SERMON OF
15TH FEBRUARY 2026
LESSON: 1 Corinthians 13:1-8
TOPIC:
LOVE BEYOND ROSES AND CHOCOLATES
TEXT:
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down oneās life for his friends. John 15:13 (NKJV)
INTRODUCTION:
When February arrives, the world is painted with red hearts, roses, and chocolates. Valentineās Day dominates the culture, but as believers, we are called to look deeper into the meaning of love. The Bible reminds us that love is not merely a fleeting emotion or a romantic gestureāit is the very essence of God Himself. āGod is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in themā (1 John 4:16). Be blessed this Valentine season in Jesus powerful name.
EXPOSITION:
[1]. LOVE THAT TRANSCENDS ROMANCE
Valentineās may celebrate affection, but Christ calls us to a love that goes beyond romanceāa love that sacrifices, forgives, and serves.
āGreater love has no one than this: to lay down oneās life for oneās friendsā (John 15:13). Unlike the temporary thrill of gifts and flowers, the love of Christ is eternal, unconditional, and transformative.
[2]. LOVE THAT BUILDS COMMUNITIES:
Paulās words in 1 Corinthians 13:4ā7 challenge us: love is patient, kind, not self-seeking, and keeps no record of wrongs. Imagine if our communities embraced this radical loveāmarriages would be healed, friendships restored, and even enemies reconciled.
[3]. LOVE WRITTEN ON OUR HEARTS:
So while the world exchanges cards and chocolates,
let us exchange forgiveness, compassion, and service.
Let us be living valentinesāletters of Christ written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God.
2 Corinthians 3:3.
CONCLUSION:
MAKE YOUR LOVE ACTIVE!
This February, may our love be more than symbolic.
May it be active, sacrificial, and Christ-centered. Because true love is not found in roses,
it is found in the cross. 1 Corinthians 13:13
PRAYER:
Lord, help us to love beyond cultural symbols.
May our lives reflect Your sacrificial love, bringing healing and hope to all around us. Amen.
PROPHETIC AFFIRMATION:
I walk in Christ-centered love.
My life is a living Valentine, written by the Spirit, transforming relationships and glorifying God.
WISHING YOU THE BEST OF THIS WEEK.
JESUS IS COMING BACK AGAIN BE READY FOR HIM.
